Much like Muzzy and GB, I had a S-10 pickup which I loved. 88' 4x4 longbed, had the 2.8L, what a pig! It started gettin' scary at around 170,000 so I got my 1st 98 LT 4dr 4x4 in 2002. A lot happened to the S-series between '88 and '98, not to mention going from the 2.8 to the 4.3, but it still felt like a truck. I fell in love with it immediately and it was immaculate inside and out. A year later a bad person plowed into me and totalled it. (pics in my gallery...yeah, I know you've seen 'em) So I looked around until I found one almost identical...even the same color. I plan on driving it until it turns to dust. By that time I'll just go out and get an '02 or '03.

Re: How did Y'all get your Blazers???
[quote=GirlBear]So did you Buy a Blazer after searching and searching for the right one? Or did you just need a new car and stumble acrossed the Blazer.
Stumbled. May 6, 2005 (eve b4 my birthday) I was rear ended in my nearly cherry 93 Mustang by a Ford F-150 pu. Totaled the Mustang, Totaled the F-150 and broke my back. 9 months after the accident, 5 months after the surgery to restore my spine (4 little-finger sized titamium bolts and 2 titanium plates to lock the broken vertebrae together) I'm looking for a new ride. After struggling in and out of about 25 cars (wearing a huge back brace to help me stay together) I can't find anything acceptable. Suddenly, there is the PERFECT date. Everything that I am looking for (well, except fuel economy) and I can just slide in and out without a step up or a stoop down. She's beautiful. She's Strong. She's MINE. And that's why I am here on this board. Phillip |

Re: How did Y'all get your Blazers???
Its a typical storey.
When I get the feeling I need to trade my car off I start looking. I dont buy a car strickly on how it looks or even drives. Its a feeling I get in my gut. I just had a realy good feeling about this blazer and I went with it. Ive never been let down shopping for a vehicle this way. its been a great truck!!!!! I know that you can get lemons from any manufacture, Ive just never had any trouble with a GM product. Ive owned 1 Cadilac, 2 luminas, 1 Monte carlo, and now my Blazer. I have also owned 1 toyota celica "great car" & 1 toyota PU "also great truck" I have worked on all of these and I think the chevys are the easyest. oops I for got....befor I bought the blazer I had a jeep charokee....great 4x4 also..

Re: How did Y'all get your Blazers???
I needed and wanted a 4WD and my mom had a 03 (I think) ZR2. I liked how it wasnt to big but yet big enough. So that led me to my 2000 LT. I wish I would have waited and got the ZR2 but I am happy enough with this one. Now I want an Xtreme though.

Re: How did Y'all get your Blazers???
I got mine after passing by it at a repair shop....... I wanted a dodge dakota or an explorer but ended up getting the blazer because it was in great condition. Even though it was 4 years older than the others i couldnt pass it up for its price........ especially since the previous owner replaced the engine, and rebuilt the tranny and rearend.

Re: How did Y'all get your Blazers???
I bought my 1991 s-10 blazer tahoe 4x4 from a friend of mine. It was his back up vehicle for being a volunteer firefighter. The tranny went on my 98 taurus and he knew I needed a vehicle quick, so he cut me a deal and sold me his blazer for 1700.

Re: How did Y'all get your Blazers???
Bought mine off of my parents when they went to a full size ram pickup.
I knew its history and that is money in the bank in my mind.

Re: How did Y'all get your Blazers???
I got mine using lots of research and figuring. I research the heck out of them, decide what options I want (usually loaded) figure out what its worth and then start looking for exactly the vehicle I want.
I do it almost as if I am ordering a new one. I am very patient and get exactly what I want, but sometimes give the "order" to a freind. I am not sure how he does it, but he can get exactly what I want. |

Re: How did Y'all get your Blazers???
a met a girl with a 91 blazer and married her(no not just for the blazer). the marrage had alot of ups and downs atfirst, but the truck ran smooth all the way through. we are still married and have 6 kids. but now ive got the truck and shes got a van. the truck is still the best vehicle ive ever had, and was worth all of that to get it.

Re: How did Y'all get your Blazers???
Well, I was talking to my wife about getting a bigger car (easier with a newborn), but not really looking. Turns out my friends dad, who passed away, had a Blazer. He got a quote and was going to sell it to Carmax. I ran into him before he brought it in and asked him about it, he told me that he would sell it to me for what Carmax offered him. Well, I couldn't pass it up. Since then, I put many new parts and hours into the truck, but yet don't regret getting it.
