Re: Re: JWT popcharger or CAI?
yo since im a newbie at this CAI crap, would anyone do it for me, and ill pay... ? labor and parts? ship it to orlando, fl. I got an 06 sentra 1.8s.
Hardly any companies have anything for my car yet, so i would really highly appreciate it. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Or does anyone know any companies that sell the CAI for the 1.8 06 sentra? HOTSHOT claims to say that it will NOT fit. AEM, won't work, so im lead with nothing... Thanks. |

Re: JWT popcharger or CAI?
I prefer the HKS filter over any other. It gets a bad rap from lab tests, but it performs much differently when installed on a motor. Best of the best if you ask me.

Re: JWT popcharger or CAI?
but its just a filter...
im pimpin apex'i and JWT because they have an additional part that helps smooth airflow in addition to the filter. otherwise hks is one of the best for just plain filter...

second of all... looking at pics of the engine bay, it looks like the same general layout as the B14 SR20DE engine bay...id bet a 95-99 2.0L intake would fit like a charm. otherwise do the thing with the civic intake vs hacksaw. it looks like it would fit perfectly too. 1995 200sx SE-R with injen intake ![]() 2001 sentra 1.8s ![]()

for 06 sentra, the MAF sensor might be different, the engine compartment might be different, there might be extra sensors....who knows. I need an actual car to make sure it fits. for now, it's best to just install the pop charger or leave it as it is now and wait til a CAI for 06 sentra came out.

I was talking about the whole filter assembly. I think the internal design of HKS's filter assembly is top of the line.

Re: JWT popcharger or CAI?
idk how their filter would be so much more superior than maybe an apexi or another high quality company. i personally haven't seen a hks intake on a fwd car personally, and what ive read is that they need constant cleaning due to the foam filter...do they even make a cai(hks)?
either way hks doesn't make a intake set up for my car unless i get a s13/s14 intake for the non turbo model, which i dont think will fit

Re: JWT popcharger or CAI?

Re: JWT popcharger or CAI?
ooohhh ok the true hks mushroom has a velocity stack inside also.(looked at the website, didnt know they had a pic of the inside before)
and chiquae no the RWD intake wont work. it stretches across the engine bay like the 240sx intake.

Re: JWT popcharger or CAI?
It's because the HKS filter isn't paper. It's a plastic sponge material that flows much better. To clean it, all you need is to spray it with an air compressor to blow all the dirt off of the magnetic coating. All you need is the MAF adapter and a universal HKS filter assembly. Just make sure it's the rights size for the MAF. I have an HKS filter kit on my FWD Sentra. And, no, HKS doesn't believe in CAI. But since you have a B15 Sentra SE, you can use the old-school kit for the older SE-R. They're all SR20's!
