Hey
These things keep going and going.... I have 266K on a '93 Country and have only done little maint. jobs on it. I will most def buy another one - but might not have to for a few more years. Also, this forum rocks if you need any kind of DIY info. JR Out! |

Re: 160000-too many miles on a cherokee?
damn I gestt they do run forever, the 129000 on my '98 is nothing, I guess she will last till I get it paid off in 2 yrs. one concern of mine though, next semmester, I will be commuting to college daily about 45 miles one way, is gas and sch. maintenance my only big concerns or is there something that I should be doing in addition to the scheduled maintenance that will help out? I want this jeep to last forever...

I would say you will be fine as long as the underbody is still in good shape and the motor sounds healthy.

Re: 160000-too many miles on a cherokee?
my 1997 cherokee had 280,000 on it. only problem was the fuel pump and some little things. mechanically, it is great. cherokees will run good for a long LONG time. Jeep is famous for their 4.0 Litre motor. (i used the word HAD when refering to miles being that i replaced the gauge cluster to make it sell better. my reason for selling was to get a High Output like i had in the past. i stuck with the 97. great Jeep.)

Re: 160000-too many miles on a cherokee?
i have 162,000 on my 93 XJ. i got it for $200 bux, sweet. new radiator, general thorough tune -up, new catalytic conveter, brakes, neutral safety switch, had to have driverside hinges re-done, anfter i buy new tires i may have $2000 in it. personally, it has been the best vehicle for me.
