oh...here's the badge up close:

I just found a font that was close to the badge lettering and spaced it out so it was close to the badge.

Then I drew a rounded corner bar under it, slightly chopping into the text.

Then in Illy I converted the text to outlines (ctrl+o) and ungrouped.

Then I select the text and the bar and on my pathfinder pallet I merged them into one shape. Click expand on the paths pallet and that's it.

Then copy your whte text and do a ctrl+b (paste directly behind where you copied it from) and then drop it a couple pixels down and over and make it black.

I thought some of you might like to see what this Channel crap I'm always spittin is about. I render in Photoshop channels because it creates separations for shirts as I color. In screenprinting each separate color goes on a separate screen. (unless you index or process, but I'm old school and like the pure...it's only personal preference, there are many great ways to do it.)...anyway. I pick specific colors to render the car in and then I can see just that color on a channel. Here's the black only:

Here's the Reflex Blue channel only:

Here's my final render (mostly...I may revisit later)

regardless it was cool I learned a lot and I must move on.

Lemorris... As always... Awesome. Your pal will be more-than-pleased with this rendering. Something he'll be proud to show his friends. Robo

Re: Notchback toon

Ahh bleh my finger got fractured into 3 pieces and they cut it open intending to put a wire in there. All went well but hurt like monkey ass, so I got a 5 MG/ML shot of morphin before I was sent home.
