some where along the way some one decided that they are now rat rods
(probably the shifters)
as quoted by Verne Hammond from the burbank choppers "it's either a hot rod or a custom and thats it"
hot rods can involve chrome and candy paint or primer and not much else, but there all hot rods so shut up with all this rat rod crap.
Someone that isnt from the past is a little too specific about the terminology. Usually the people that annoyed by the term "rat rod" are from the '40s '50s drag racing days. The terminology is extremely loose these days. Hot rod is a generality. Hot rod involves muscle cars, street rods, customs, street machines, pro touring, pro street, and yes, RAT ROD.

The terms are loose now, not like they used to be. I know Dennis personally, he is a "rat rod" and "rat bike" builder in real life. He knows a great deal about it, and I am personally offended that you are putting for such an effort to argue about terminology.

i could call a rod a rat rod but it would look like they bulled it out of a shed and cept it under water for months then hit it with a sledge hammer

Re: Completed: '29 Ford Rat-Rod

Could we just drop the terminology problems and give credit to the fabulous build no matter what one and others likes to call it?

Way to go, Ol' dude!
Nice build.
Yeah, I know I said that before but I thought I might bring back the thread on track again.
