Re: what do you think about this car?

John is a very understanding person and if he offers to help you then that means he will not get mad. Putting in a new motor I would think is harder than changing out head gaskets. get the whole kit go to Johns if he did say he would help give him 20 bucks for beer and a bj. He will be happy. LOL. For real though, in the long run you will be happier.

Re: what do you think about this car?

Viper get, you won't regret it, trust me. My car was a shit box when i got it, but as time past i brought it back to life. Aslong as you have it in your hands and have a place to park it, you could take your time and restore, but i undersatnd you want to be able to drive to school. You'll figure it out, like goldz28 said, just go look at it.

Re: what do you think about this car?

If you blew a head gasket on a car you should really have the heads/head milled down .010 and then can use larger gaskets if you want stock compression. Therefor you would need a machine shop. If you wanted a professional type job anyway. So you would have that cost as well as mine. I am reasonable as gold said. I help people out, its not really a money thing (although if you have a hot sister, Golds BJ idea sounds swell, JK ). So take a look at it. Hear it run, see if its smoking from the engine bay. Have a local shop check it out and see what they say it is. Then you will be well informed. Good luck

John

That was if I was going over there to help.

Re: what do you think about this car?

Your not going to need a machine shop for the engine swap. Just the head gasket car if you got it..

Re: what do you think about this car?

I would have to see it. Lots of things can cause that. I would not just guess at it. It could be something as simple as a loose intake manifold bolt or could be as serious as a cracked block. Only way to tell for sure is look it over.

Re: what do you think about this car?

Re: what do you think about this car?

cause the mating surfacing could have been damaged and the head may be warped. They mill it down to assure its flat and will seal correctly.
