Re: Re: How many mpg are you guys getting

Pretty certain. It was one of the things I checked out again when the engine started running poorly at idle but was not setting codes. EGR would let it idle rough, but then set a DTC when you reached full operating temps at cruising speeds. No DTC at all, just sitting there, loping and spewing what smells like half-burned gas-stink out of the exhaust. :P Lifting out the IMTV not only revealed pooling, but a very clean passenger side in the plenum. A tap on the key to let it run the fuel pump makes the fuel regulator leak gas like a cheesecloth. :P

Oh man, get that changed ASAP and drop the oil NOW.

Don't let you bearings sit in a gas bath.

Re: How many mpg are you guys getting

Way ahead of you. Dropped in some 10w-30 Rotella and idled it for a few minutes to circulate the fresh oil. Battery's since been removed and put up on a trickle charger as the truck now sits until I get the parts together. Luckily I have access to a second vehicle - when the roommate's in the mood to part with the keys.

Re: How many mpg are you guys getting

Still remove the oil again.

You just put more gas into the oil?

What part of DON'T DRIVE THE TRUCK AND DROP THE OIL do you not understand.

lol, you drop your oil and then you run the engine again where gas is being sprayed some more?

stop and go is the worst for gas mileage. u can do some little things to help (no, not mod the truck). 1. drive with the windows up. 2. don't use drive throughs (idling all that time eats gas). 3. maintain correct tire psi.

Re: Re: How many mpg are you guys getting

It's all getting swapped again in a week. Pffft, relax dude. You'll live longer. I watched a co-worker this week fall off the map from a stroke, scary shiznat to watch... My truck's in the best possible hands at the moment... my own. I'll deal with her in time.

Re: How many mpg are you guys getting

Still, drop the oil. You have done nothing but remove the old gas filled oil and add some new gas filled oil.

Drop the oil, close up the oil pan and let it sit.

Re: How many mpg are you guys getting

*sigh* Okay, okay - I'll drop the oil *again* this weekend. My online buds and friends are worth at least another stout change of Rotella. I figure once I get her fuel tight again, I will run her on a quick oil change (2000 miles) Of full synth Rotella if I can *find* it, then switch the beutiful blue beast over to a steady diet of Catrol Syntec....I shit you guys not, I have a CLOSET full of the stuff. I ought to get a picture of that up in the off-topic thread.

Edit: Spelling goofs - yeah, sorta anal about crap in my own way too...
