Any of you guys know what wreckless driving is....you normally get thrown in jail for that....I think the CHP or any other highway patrol cop will consider anything over a 100 to be a little wreckless....be safe dont fuck around like that....I know a little math too and as the speed doubles your momentum quadruples.....its the same for the driver too...now take into account reaction time at such a speed.....better hope you have some 15in rotors with some 6 piston caliper and 20in wheels.....you'll need all the friction possible,......

I agree, public roads are not the place to !@#$ around!

In NZ you can lose your license for doing 45km/h over the speed limit, so on the open road - thats 90mph = no license. Still better than killing/maiming yourself or someone else though.

In the U.S., the rule is supposed to be 30mph over the posted limit = "reckless driving," which means an automatic license suspension. That's what it's supposed to be, but I don't think they enforce it enough.

You sure that is in the U.S.? I dont see how they could enforce a Country wide traffic law. Anyways, Utah it is double the speed limit is wreckless driving. According to my friends dad, who is a cop.

Good point. Allow me to amend it to say "California."

Speed doesn't kill.....

It's the sudden deceleration. :jump:

As for math, get used to it. Life is full of math and the more you understand it the more you will understand many things in life. And, if you are really interested in cars, math is used to model/explain just about everything. Trust me, learn as much math as you can.

As for reckless driving.....

it varies from state to state. If you are going to do top speed runs, try to find someplace where there is nobody else on the road. Try to find a nice straight piece of road.

In the ends, who really cares? It's trivia. It's BS to argue about over too many beers and that just isn't worth risking your life over is it?

OK, I'm an old fart and I'll just go back into my corner. :jump:

I've done 215km/h when alone in the car (a 125hp 2.0SE primera of '96).

done 205km/h with passenger(s) on straight freeway at midnights.

In a way yes, In another way no. The impact of the sudden deceleration is in ratio with the speed. The Higher the Speed, The Higher the Impact of the Deceleration. The Higher the Impact of the Deceleration, The greater chance you have of dying. So you can basically conclude from that ratio that the Higher the Speed the Greater Chance you have of dying. So speed can kill ya. damn im good

My dad got 145 mph, and there was still more he claimed. This was his old 98 Primera GT. On the paper claimed to do about 138 mph.
That`s a hell of lot more than mine! My car is claimed to do about 100mph, I got 110 mph. (with my new airfilter that is, but with 215-40-17", wich decreases perfomerance a tad)

I'm not saying he did or didn't, but our cars have notoriously inaccurate speedometers at very high speeds.

I have it on tape, in print and on a page-a-day calendar.
