Re: 2 shows, 3 awards, 16 years old

I love the hood

At least the wing isnt bolted to the factory wing, like I've seen some chuckleheads do.

Mad respect for the engine and all the work you put into that and the car.

Welcome to the board.

I don't think the red clashes per se, but it is bright and there is a lot of it. I understand where you're coming from on the attention grabbing aspect of it, but I can see the other side of the argument here too. It's opinion and taste. I wouldn't want red rims, but I'm an old school factory look kind of guy. I say good for you on completing a very clean and professional looking project and as long as you like it that's all that matters as far as I'm concerned anyway.

Re: 2 shows, 3 awards, 16 years old

bro u said "red catches your eye"...and it does....yours catches your eye in a bad way. i give u mad props for doing the mods to your car but what were u thinking with the rims? maybe if your daddy wants to buy u another car u can make the engin match the car. how does purple match black and red at the same time. i guess its cool to have some glow on your engine but make the glow match...it looks like u did some mods just because they were there and u wanted to get them in quick.

black and silver on the outside would make it look classy and tough

red and black makes it look like a toy and with that much power it isnt

Re: 2 shows, 3 awards, 16 years old

yo forget what i said before about your car...it looks pretty good. seeing as how you're only 16 u probably want to go towards the tuner styling instead of the 40 year old guys going for the factory style. look at it this way...people on this forum dont like your car but obviously people giving out rewards do. sorry for the post before but i still give u props on doing everything yourself!!

hey
Sweet ride. On your site the concept picture had a red wing, how come you didnt go with that? Also man thats one hot girl in that picture with you. Ill be entering my first car show in november with my 89 bandit II specail edition
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2055416/1

My only complaint about the car is the car started out looking like the car from Smokey and the Bandit III but beyond that its sweet man.

Peace

Thanks..
About the purple in the engine compartment. Yeah, its too bad that the only color they make those Dial-A-Jets is purple.
I still dont think the red clashes so much, red and black r my favorite 2 colors.
I didnt go with the red wing, cuz there needed to be more carbon somewhere, to tie it all in. Carbon gauges/switch panel, carbon heat shield under the carb, and carbon look on the wheels. If i had the red wing AND the red wheels, then i would say that theres too much red. but there r only stripes and decals that r red, so i wanted more.
Back to the purple underhood thing- you dont see them anyway, so whats it matter?
Dial-A-Jets are awesome too.. change jet sizing with a screwdriver and wrench.

Man you cant take well to constructive critisism can you? Well the thing that people are having big trouble with is the rims, I mean yeah you're saying that you got to even out the red with the black, if you were trying to do that, why not make it a 2 tone car? It'd look WAY better but people just hate those rims because it looks rice, sorry to say but it does, not many people paint their rims. But thats you, im also with Luos on this. WS.6 hood should stay on WS.6s, cowl would've done ya much better. Not bashing, but take it any way you like.

Re: 2 shows, 3 awards, 16 years old

easy on riding the kid! thats a nice car and does look better than 85% of all the 4 gens i have seen there are a few things i think are needed to make this a winner

1. the spoiler is hideous. you shuld be able to either find a nice spoiler that fits directly or u can make a custom one.
2. where is the rest of the stripes? they go over the hood but there are no on the roof and rear.
3, there is nothing wrong with the wheels but i think they are to big for these kind of cars. you shuld either try and find deep dish ones or some truck wheels or nice snowflake ones.
4 the credit list may be removed from the car but i do realze that its sponsored so you probably cant take them off
5.tint front side windows for looks

otherwise a very nice looking car. i also like the interior

Re: 2 shows, 3 awards, 16 years old

lol i just dont understand u guys.
I thought the wing was lame too until i got the endplates to look right.
There are too many definitions of rice. I thought rice was stuff that wasnt functional, and having stickers that mean nothing on the car, like buying a B&M shifter and putting their sticker on the car.
And body kits that r just way out there and look gay. I have red wheels. I think they look good. They are not too big- 17" and 18" ? r u kidding me? thats not big. The spoiler is carbon- lightweight, and very functional.
My car is a WS6 by the way.. but yes i know wut u mean. I think they look bitchin' on the car. Cowls r lame in my opinion.
There must be something different about you guys on these forums compared to those in real life.
Every show ive gone to, i won something.
And it seems like the older crowd of people like my car better than the teenage-20 year old region. And i dont have stripes all the way back, because some TA's came with them not on the roof or trunk lid. Once i have money for new side windows they will be tinted.

Yes rice is about the stickers but it is also about too much color, thats why people while 5 tone cars get dissed on. The rims though, big time rice, sorry to tell you, I mean hell even a vinyl sticker on the side of a Firebird would've been better to 'even out' the red and black. Vinyl stickers are not cnsidered rice unless it doesnt fit the car.. like a Tiger on the side of a Mustang.. no relation.

About why people give many compliments on a car show is because thats what you want to hear after all your sweat, and HEY your car is badass it IS nice, you did work your ass off to make it the powerhouse it is but its not like they'll come up and say "Nice car man but dude.. wth is up with the color on the rims? Those dont look cool at all" Because its considered rude man, and people are nice most of the time. Winning awards isnt too big though.. just depends on the type of award. Hell my friend got 1st place for best looking car in a car show and his car needs a new paintjob and a huge dent taken out of the rear panel.

and one thing more. these rims are a bit big for this car if i remember corectly most of them came on 15's and the top models with 16" also some rims just look much bigger than they realy are. i wuld have gone with something else.

Re: 2 shows, 3 awards, 16 years old

I will give that car that. For what it is, it is in good condition.
Just is totally opposite of what I like. I mean, what if those painted rims, stickers, wing, etc....where on a Civic?? What would it be?
