Re: What is the world coming to?

Guess I got my 15min of FAME.................. I really don't see what is everyones problem, if you've really got an issue with it, buy your own 240, as I did, there tons of them, just come up with the cash. I really don't have time to finish the project, but I wanted something I was more familiar, and I know tons more about SHOs' and domestics vs Imports. And for those who bitch about costs, learn how to work on cars, and then things get easier and cheaper. Yeah I didn't complete the project, I don't really have much time........guess I get 0 Kudos for that HAha........I have an option, keep it in my garage and let it collect dust till I ever get time to deal with it, or get rid of it and buy something else later, besides, I've got a Lincoln LS, even though it's got a V8 with less CC than some V6, it serves it's purpose for now.....and why am I even bothering defending my self, I did what I want, with what I had, why is everyone minding other ppls stuff?????????? That I'll never know, in any case, my LS drives better, so I opted to get rid of it.
There go my drifting days
Thanks SR for the back up, took me the last 4 months to agree to get rid of my SHO Blocks, I got my SHO to rev to 7500 easy, Yamaha did a great job on those engines, they could rev all day, and they last a lifetime, seen SHO with over 200K.

Damit, I feel like going to finish the damn project out of spite, but Career or Hobby............................hmmmmmmmmm....... ............. Which way Should I go?????????????????????

Re: Re: What is the world coming to?

I more or less respect what you were trying to do, however bizarre it is. Nothing wrong with doing what you can with what you've got...and the SHO engines aren't horrible...I guess. I've never heard anything about them, at least. The tranny's in the jelly bean generation blow chocolate balls...I DO know that. Buddy of mine had a jelly bean SHO and that POS dropped the tranny at 30K miles. He sold it and now drives a VW Jetta VR6...he's had that car for a long ass time, now.

200K isn't "a lifetime", dude...you would know this if you were part of the import crowd...

Re: What is the world coming to?

Actually the damn tranny was built by ford, that is why they kept breaking, they put a cheap @SS tranny on the SHO block, had to replace mine at 103K. The 96 and up SHO had a Ford Built V8 which was crappy too, they kept breaking the timing belt at 60K and causing catastrophic failure.
And in any case, I didn't want to stop my project, but I spend over 14hrs a day at my office MON-SAT or if not, I'm on appointments, so I literally have no time to work on the damn thing. That's why I even stopped posting here.
Trust Me, when you get into enough shit like I did, the stiff fines, lawyer fees, the probation, community service, suspensions, High Ins Rates, having a wreck, and tons more, not to mention seeing others getting arrested, and the way the law is cracking down on racers here in GA, Trust me, you will start to think differently, atleast I did, some of my old buddies saw me and made fun of my grocery getter, most beat me with their Stangs and TT imports, but I still beat a few of them, but, Life goes on.........................some say I chickened out, others said we were cowards, but the funny thing was, even before I left, the crowd was getting smaller and smaller, now, I see those who left early driving in knew Cars and having their own businesses, and the very few that we left still riding in the same old cars we left them with. Life goes on, and some of us move on, that's why every time you log on, there is some knew n00bie (which we start out hating) and the older gen leaving.
Damn I sound like an old F**K!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually found out one of my buddies who we used to hang out with, slammed into a truck and died Last summer over a stupid bet, after that, and after the arrests at Moreland (for all those who live in GA)suprisingly, they all stopped street racing, now they just hang out.
Anyway, Life has a funny way of turning out........................

Re: What is the world coming to?

What does anything expcept for the first 2 or 3 sentences you said have anything to do with this post?? And LongLivetheZ is right, if you were part of the import crowd, then you would realize that 200k isnt shit on an import, but on a domestic its another story. Sorry, I don't mean to get the Import vs Domestic fight started.

I know that. Not talking about JUST the motor. There are other parts of the car, the transmission, for instance, that are domestic made that are crap...those are the parts that won't last long. My point is, 200K isn't much for an import car as a whole...I didn't say an import ENGINE.

HA....k....they aren't bad engines, but I'm not even saying anything about that...

You're comparing the SHO engine to an engine that was designed over 20 years ago. It's a very simple engine that CAN produce power but isn't much from the factory. I personally would rather have a reliable engine than a powerful one that I can't ever even drive...

umm i dunno. i cant really think of too many import v6's that are not better than it. C32B, VQ35, VQ30, the VR-6 from the TT, maybe not the VG, but at least it already is RWD. so...ok maybe its better than like a toyota sr5 v6 from a 4-runner or whatever, but thats where i see the list ending. what specific import v6's were you talking about?

Re: What is the world coming to?

I don't know about calling SHO411 a coward, he did have the balls to start such a cool project. Yeah maybe not finish it but still I think it is not a coward thing to do.
SHO- have you though of giving it away to somebody to finish, then sell a complete thing and share the money? That will be IMO a better choice.
And yeah the shit in GA with all these people dying and shit, I've lost some friends in accidents, I never race on streets after that. (did stupid shit though, like going into turns with E-brake).

Hey man that shit was fun, in rain, I was going slow (30mph) and just want to feel out of controll, also tried turning around going at that speed backwards, it was on a big ass parking lot with no poles around. See I am safe!

ok if thats what we are talking about, N/A, front-wheel drive V6's then i guess the SHO is the great leader in this proud and hotly contested performance class. Congratulations, SHO motor.

But what you said was import V6's and thats some pretty strong company like I listed before VR6, VQ35, C32B. i mean cmon really theres no comparison there.

Re: What is the world coming to?

Orestes...I like you...short, to the point and funny as hell. "Orestes"...do you happen to know where that name came from? Do you happen to like A Perfect Circle?

I'm not going anywhere, nissanfanatic. I kinda like this forum. But it is good to know I'm loved...lol. I just don't get why this sr20det dude is throwing such a hissy fit about the SHO engine. Your name implies that you're a Nissan guy but you're raving, and has BEEN raving, about Ford. Go figure. Sure...the SHO, in certain incarnations, is one of my less hated Fords, but damn dude...it's no ferrari...chill.

Pavlo...pavlo, my boy...you'd wet yourself if I told you some of the stupid shit I did when I was younger... Let's just say that, in hindsight, I've come to realize that I'm one of the luckiest mother fuckers to still be walking the planet earth...
