The CIA plates on the 456 Venice were fakes. They were made to protect the owners privacy and since they were fakes, they couldn't be traced back to anyone

Well then the same could be true for the plate on the McLaren. Makes sense anyway...

Thanks for the info Chris!

No they belonged to the CIA. But it's a big secret, so don't tell anyone.

Talking Re: Re: F1 GTR at Goodwood

Isn't 17R in the states in PTG's workshops with Star and Stripes on its rear?!!! To be accurate this should be 16R, altho that was seen for sale, British road registered and without graphics. Or could it be that other Bigazzi/BMW car 18R, not seen since racing in Brazillian races in 1996!

Its great to be back!

Monty - Welcome back!

The FINA GTR in these photos did turn out to be GTR #18R. Styledoesntscream even captured a shot of the chassis plaque in his photos which are posted elsewhere on the forum.

#17R looks identical to this car (which is the original #39 FINA-liveried GTR) and is still in the USA. PTG Racing brings it out to various events for BMW North America.

#16R was sold from the UK, received a refit at the factory to the look of an LM with fresh Papaya Orange paint, and has since moved on to Australia.
