I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I realize that removing 5 lbs 20 or 30 times would make a difference. That we agree on. However, (and this is what I said in my other post) there comes a point when you don't have any 5lbs things left to remove OR what little 5 lbs things you would have wouldn't make that much of a difference (actually would'nt make any difference).

Its like with my car. There is nothing left to take off! Aside from getting a complete fiberglass body (already have doors, hatch, and front end)and/or a new smaller tubing tube frame, there is nothing left to remove! So you see, even if I took out a 5lbs whatever (probably coudl rewire the car and loose 5 lbs, so we'll just say that) then I would not see ANY difference in performance! True, I'd be going from say 2700lbs to 2695, and would have a better hp:weight ratio, but there would be no real improvements in performance.

Yet another example with my car. Right now, it has a cast iron block with cast iron heads. Now we've had allum. heads before, and have actually run the same engine with allum. and cast iron heads. Now you know that cast iron heads will atleast weigh 50 more lbs then allum. heads, atleast! On the same block, with the same setup, with the only difference being head material, there was NO noticeable difference in performance! None. The allum. heads would run 4.30s and so would hte cast iron head (this was an entire different motor BTW from the one thats in the car now).

So again, I'm not arguing with you that lighter is better, or that any little amount of weight you can save will improve your hp:weight ratio, but I am going to argue with you that a single 5 lbs, or even a couple 5 lbs will not make one bit of difference in actual performance. Its going to take close to 100 pounds before you start noticing a difference, and even at that it'll be one tenth at most (I realize a tenth in drag racing is alot, but I think you probably know what I mean).
