OMG I know what you mean by that song. It was sung by Melanie and came out in 1971. I remember listening to that song on the AM radio all through the '70s LOL. I heard another band, Rasputina, a goth-metal band recently covered the song as well.

their a christian heavy metal band that is kick ass. but (theres always a but) their lyrics are cheessy as hell. try the song "in god we trust"
