I picked up a dupont Registry at my local Sav*On the other day, because I'd heard other AFers talk about them and I'd never read one. Well, it turns out it's an AutoTrader for the wealthy! I saw some Mangustas in there. Or you could go old school and get a Ford GT40! Wow!

And to think, my current dream car is an NSX, which is already outside of my budget by about six-fold! LOL.... sigh.

In any case, we're all interested now, so keep us posted.

Does anyone have any information on the release of the new Lamborghini model? My dealer won't give me too much info because they are trying to push a 2001 6.0VT on me. If anyone has pics, specs, or pricing I would appreciate it.

I can tell you, to the best of my knowledge that there is a New Special edition Diablo either coming out or already out. It is called the Diablo 6.0 SE and features a rear mounted camera for backing up and looking behind you. I'm not sure on prices but it will be considerably more than the stock Diablo. It only comes in Black and Gold. As for the Diablo's replacement, you should check the other threads on the Lamborghini forum. I also believe Lamborghini it coming out with a "Smaller" model in 03' or 04'. I think it is priced in the Ferrari 360 Modena range and sports a V-10.

BTW, if you desire to own Lamborghini's over other Exotics, you should look at the Diablo GT. It isn't street legal but neither is the Lotus Elise or any TVR, I duobt that cops would pull you over seeing as it looks failry similar to a stock Diablo.

yeah i'd suggest that you get different cars........... like keeping your Diablo and then getting a 360 spyder or somethin, that way you have to totally different exotic cars

Tough choice!

Let see........ in my dream garage I would have a Diablo and 360 Spyder...which one should drive today? I would check the weather report for rain...if moisture is in the forcast I'll just go with the Yugo.
...............................................
You could understand the dealers reluctance to sell a dream car when he has a Dioblo that he has to sell now. Assuming the cars are not on consignment, I wonder what the daily/weekly interest rate would be for a new Diablo just sitting on the showroom floor?

I had bought a few issues of the duPont Registry and then decided to try a year subscription. I enjoyed each issue but found many of the ads repetitive. The subscription is over now. I learned about not only the different exotic car models but also the special editions availible.
After you read thruogh an issue you sort of feel like the world is for of these special cars and sort of expect to see a Lamborghini at the next stop light....wrong!
Silver S2000... since you live in California you have pretty good chance of actually visiting some of these dealers and seeing some of the special cars featured...but, alas, I just have the back issues to keep the Lamborghini memories alive.

Note: I think I thought the Mangusta was a DeTomaso, not a Qvale. Was that ever right?

Your were (and are) right, It was Detomaso when the model was introduced, then it redid it's name+logo and change it to Qvale.

Good, thanks. I feel better. Neither DeTomasi nor Qvale have sections on AF, (!!!) so I didn't know where to look it up.
