Owners and age

I am 46. I'm an Electronics Technician at an urban combat training center for the Army. Most of the troops going "over there" come through our training center as a final prep for their deployment. I bought the Silverado last July, so I could semi retire the '72 Blazer that's been my daily driver since 1989. I expect to use the truck to tow my dirt track Camaro this summer, and hope to start the resto on the Blazer next winter. I'm new to this forum, but expect to visit regularly. Thanks for being here guy/gals.

I'm 52 and a self-employed millwright. I own a 2001 K-2500 Silverado standard cab with the 6.0L engine. It gives me plenty of power for pulling the trailers plus hauling whatever materials I need.......I had a 1996 K-2500 Cheyenne w/the 6.5 Diesel and I loved that truck. It would work all day and night.......untill I blew a head gasket and pitted both the block and the head on the passenger side. Anyway, I got a fantastic deal on the Silverado. It only had 23,000 miles on it, and the dealer let me have it for $11,000., so, I work w/the "Silvy". My only complaint is the gas mileage, but what are you going to do?? You get what you get.

Re: What age are you guys mostly, and what kind of work do you do?

Man, there a lot of replies you guys....very neat...I see that there are alot of different jobs, from resturanters, to all sorts of technical work.....I wanted to add some other thread to these posts, so I was wondering, What type of music to Silvy'ers like to listen to in their trucks? Just my ever ending quest to find the identity of the Chevy fanatic....

Re: What age are you guys mostly, and what kind of work do you do?

I guess I'll be the first one to start....Please don't get me wrong, but I know that a lot of younger people might hate me or something (young people these days, eh?), but I do like country music a lot, you know like Tim Mcgraw, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Faith, Toby, Martina, Joe....just to name a few.....I also like to listen to some dance music, on occassion......

Re: What age are you guys mostly, and what kind of work do you do?

Godsmack, Korn, OLD Metallica, Greenday, ect...
Eazy E, Too Short, Eminem, NWA, ect...
Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Tom Petty ect...
I also listen to Funk, Country, Punk, anything really.

My music tastes are too diversified to name a particular group or category of music. But I am a Metal/Rock first and foremost.
Out of that category I would have to say that Godsmack is my favorite. I have seen them in concert 4times, each one better than the last.
