Anyhow to try and salvage something Car classic has entirly redone its website and they clasify the car as an GTR/Lm say that it is US legal is in North Americ prehaps it has moved beloned to only 1 ower what about AMG? and is the best avalible acording to Mclare thoughs is this all rubbish? and no Monster nobodys intrested in what you think so dont bother replying.

McLaren240! sent me a private message when I asked Frank Selldorff what his reasoning was behind buying 3 McLarens, and contemplating the fourth one that was up for auction. Here's what he wrote:

And do you really want to start comparing who's contributed what? Because I see you have contributed excatly...zero. Besides begging for information and pictures, that is. If nothing else, I explained why McLarens are considered LHD, and I was able to confirm the license plate's origins as well how much it is to subscribe to the Japanese site that has the videos. And I am putting together a hell of a website. There's lots of other stuff, but I can't be arsed to look.

To clarify who said what first, I did send the first PM. But it was in response to McLaren240! insulting me openly in the forum, and completely out of the blue when I asked a legitimate question--why he felt he had to jump in, I don't know. In his post above, even McLaren240! himself admits that "flamed me for it" first--yet somehow it's all my fault?

Even in the PM I sent to him, I said that I was posing the question to Mr. Selldroff. And at the time, I had no idea that he had dyslexia, or that he wanted the world to kiss his ass because of it. If you're crippled, get a wheelchair. If you have weak eyesight, get glasses. If you have dyslexia, get a spellchecker. It's easy...no need to wear it on your sleeve and beg for sympathy and call others rascist over something so trivial.

OK, to get back on topic, I know a guy who had a McLaren F1 GTR. He got rid of it a while back, went on to a bunch of Ferraris, and is currently Dauer 962s. He has several (I think 3), and he and his brother race them.

He kept it at Sears Point Raceway (now Infineon Raceway) in Sonoma, Ca., and he still has a spare bonnet hanging in the garage there. It's in Marlboro racing livery. Peloton, is that enough info to tell you which car it was, or was more than one painted in Marlboro livery?

Presently, this guy lives in New York City, but his brother is still in California. I will try and get the chassis number out of him.

Reason I didn't start a new thread about this is because I am wondering if it's this car that ended up in Bahrain.

The two 1996 Gulf GTRs both wore the Marlboro livery when they raced in Zuhai, China that year. They were #12R & #15R - later today I should be able to confirm which of the two that he owned via some reference material I have.
