Thanks. I placed the wheels on to take the photo, my car currently has in-dependent steering, so you can turn left with one wheel and right with another..!!

And Hiroboy - Yep practice makes perfect, but I think in my case reading FAQ's and using this forum BEFORE doing something might help. Why is it that ONLY after something goes wrong do we search and find everyone else has had the same problem. I found loads of articles in the end about the dangers on clear coating..

Mick!

Fab! Bet you feel better now it's taking shape the way you envisaged. Also, you didn't let it get the better of you and this will only serve to stand you in good stead for future models.

I know how it feels to be a newbie to modelling and you see all the good looking builds on here & you want yours to look just like that. You can't rush these things though. I know my first builds won't turn out the way I want them but I'm sure that at some point in the future I'll be producing some builds I can be proud of. It all takes time, patience & effort & you can't be faulted on effort.

Well done

Thanks Sticky Fingers. I am trying, and also at times trying too hard. But they say - to learn is to make a mistake. As long as we learn from the mistake then it's OK. I am starting to feel a little better about the build now. I was so upset when I ruined the first paint job. It would have been easy to stick it back into the box and forget about it. But what would I learn? Just to quit that's all..!! Members on this board who have lots of talent I'm sure have made mistakes.. You can tell, they all know how to advise on stripping paint..!! I'm not the only one..!!

Well, the project hasn't been left to one side. I'm so near the end, just a few more bits to complete, and this car is ready for the display case.Need to apply two more decals, wait two days and then wax the entire car body, finish the inside door panels (didn't get XF-53 until a few days ago), make two antenna, fix the steering and attach door mirrors and rear wing..!! TBH, it's not turning out too bad, and sorry for the bad picture, will take some outside pics once it's completed.

Hmm next project is - urm painting the living room out. Not really the same, but it still needs paint..!!

No really, I've got a skyline R34 GTR V-Spec (Tamiya) to build next...!! Not sure on the colour yet though. Was thinking deep purple, then I thought about black or silver...!! Still like the idea of a deep purple pearl..!! Think if done right would look really nice..
