Re: Ga Gt 2001 Ecu...

well get new tires and get on the road and test it out....use 1,2,3 manual driving to shift at about 5800RPMs so it will be a pefect RPM when it shifts at low 6000RPM

its like 1....2...3...4...5....6
its a long time lol

Well get your computer reprogrammed then thats when you will get like under 5's lol

I am really looking forward to doing that to my car. If I ever get sponsered and get cash...dude i'll come to St. Johns one day and race you lol

we are only about 40 miles away one way. Let me know if u come in lansing one day. I'll find ya lol

Lol, Meti, shifting manually on an automatic is a very bad idea. First of all, shifting it manually is a bad idea just plain by itself - you won't gain time, and there's a high potential for overrevving. Second, shifting at 5800 is a total waste of power. Our car's torque peak is from about 4500 to 5500 rpms. Go out on the road and floor it - you'll notice that 4500 to 5500 is where it pulls really hard, and then after 5500 it just "bwwaaaaa........." like bogs down. You should try to keep it in that torque peak as much as possible. Let up on the gas when you reach about 5500 rpms, and then floor it while it's shifting, that will kind of rev match, so you'll end up keeping the rpm's in the power range.

lol I wish that would happen... Unfortunately, I'd have to do a hell of a lot more to get under 5's....

Ha yeh that would kick ass if you got sponsored - if you did everything that wanted to do to your car though, I probably wouldn't want to race because I know I'd get my ass kicked!

Yeh you're right - we are pretty close to each other. I get down to lansing pretty frequently. You know where the Eastwood town center is? We should meet somewhere around there like in the spring. Maybe go racing when we're done!

I've been meaning to get on MSN to talk to you, but I'm always busy as hell lately - my classes have been ridiculous.

talk to you later

Re: Ga Gt 2001 Ecu...

yeah man I know where Eastwood town center is

I soppose you are right about 1.2.3 shifting....blah

once like 5-6 months ago. I had a chance to put a stick transmission on my car. Some guy told me that it was possible and hard but passible!!!

My dad was very against it and so i just forgot about it and never was interested again.
Yeah man 4real we can go race. We'll see how much more our cars differ in speed and it will be awsome

I like automatic transmission but i just dont like it when i go racing. Well in about 2 months I will put on the rims back on and just enjoy my car for a while and then take off to Europe for some time this summer.

I think I am going to borrow money and then return when i get my tax returns. damnit. It takes them F-ers a damn long time to do em.

i got another question: The 62mm throttle body, would it be even better if i get spacers too?

Well my birthday is soon and tax returns soon so eyah i am pretty damn sure i will get some power for my car!

If i get sponsered.....i wouldnt be scared to race dude. I will race w/e and i dont care if i loose. And if i TOP END my car's engine then i guess even a lose would be FUN!!! (but am thinking a V-8 would be nice after this one)
I did some calculations and came just bearly above $11000 to do everything to my car that i possibly can.
After i get some performance I might lean toward vertical doors. I found some cheap ones for 250$ which is everything you need and high quality

time does its thing and if my jobs fills me up with cash...thats even better!!!
unemployed right now but i am still standing haha

Yeh lots of people have wanted to do that tranny swap - it can be done, it's just a huge pain in the ass.

Spacers are actually totally up to you. First of all, there's a myth that they ADD power, but they'd don't. But they can keep your intake air cooler and might help out on hot summer days. I guess it's up to you if you wanna spend like 60 bucks or not. But then again, I'm not sure if you can find spacers that match up to the 62 mm TB. The one's I've seen only fit the stock TB.

LoL Meti, I was saying it was going to be ME that was going to be afraid to race! - After you get all those mods you're gonna be untouchable lol

Did you mean 1,100 - or did you actually mean 11,000??? Cause that's a hell of a lot of money if that's what you meant!!!

Yeh dude those doors do kick ass! That would be sweat. Is that kit just a hinge kit or what?

Well it sounds like it sucks not having a job right now - good luck with that.

Re: Ga Gt 2001 Ecu...

what do you mean by a hinge kit?

lol yes $11,000. I might get sponsered soon and that would ROCK!!!! if they invest 11Gs then we would have something to talk about lol.

I got so much things that i wanna do. I am sure if i get everything I should even beat nice cars lke ferraris F50 and laborghinies lol proly not top speed but i'll smoke them till my engine blows up. lol

when you look at it...sport expensive cars like ferraris arent so fast. 3.5-ish in 0-60mph. Which isnt so great for 250,000 dollars.

Dude sometimes in my life I will truly fix my babe car. Yeah well ok....my mom is being stupid for be being sponserted! blah! my dad is cool though

Ok well i need to have a chat with them now.

Yeh I agree the price to power ratio sucks, but 0-60 in 3.5 seconds is pretty damn fast.

Yeh that's been done a couple of times. If you go search for it on grandamgt.com, you'll find a couple links to different people that've done it.

Re: Ga Gt 2001 Ecu...

one more thing lol
I have a teacher who has a unknown year Nissan Truck.
here is his issue and then my idea:
The truck starts when its a warm weather.
The truck starts when its a very cold/snow weather.
The truck WONT start when its a wet weather/rainy.
haha so i suggested that water is leaking in the engine and hitting something...like spark plugs or w/e
I am not sure what needs to get wet in order for a engine to not start.

could you guys give me a hand??plzzzzzzzzzzz

i know i am full of problems but what can i do!

Re: Ga Gt 2001 Ecu...

Have fun with that new laptop. I got a HP media center for christmas and it kicks ass!

As far as that link, that's designed for the camaros and trans ams if you read the subprint. So I wouldn't try it on our cars. If you're going to get one, go with the FFP one. I've heard nothing but good about that.

As far as your teacher's truck, it sounds like it could be some kind of emissions control issue / maybe even a MAF issue. I've heard water can cause emissions control problems, and may be preventing it from starting. Is it throwing any codes?

And meti, there's nothing wrong with being "full of problems". Lol - that's what we're all here for!
