First let me say welcome to the board.

Secondly, I'm glad you took the time to vote. I'm going in on the 2nd.

Third, you are new here and know nothing about me. You're presuming an awful lot.

Lastly, continue down the path of "and fair-minded individuals unlike yourself" and you'll be shown the door. If you failed to read the faq, do so now or your stay on AF will be a brief one.

Re: Polls reveals world anger at Bush

Thank you for your welcome but I was already a member of AF.

You called me unintelligent first when I replied to a post under my husbands AF name. He and I have let the other moderators know and they reinstated his screename but I had to get a new one.

I have read the guidelines and thought it was very unfair for you to post a personal attack on me but then ban Tony for his response in a PM.

That's all I'll say about the matter.

PS. I was impressed by your response to my post on financial issues. It was very informative. Economics are not my specialty so I respect your knowledge of the subject. My degrees are in Law and Chemistry.

I did not call you unintelligent. I said no intelligence was shown. There is a distinct difference. I also reinstated the FerrariLvr sceen name yesterday so you can go back to that one if you wish.

Prayer in school - when did that become a requirement? Or are you saying that you can't pray in school. If the second one, you can look to the left and the ACLU for that one.
wrong Yogs, i figured you for better. noonw will ever tell you that you cant pray in school. as long as your prayer does not disrupt the regular functions of a secular school, your free to pray as you please. and if you get in trouble for a personal prayer in school. let the ACLU know, they'll back you ass in court with all their power. Its when prayer is compelled that it becomes a problem.

but i did, and you ignored it. my freedom of speech is greatly violated under the present administration as are my fundamental rights to privacy as protected in the fourth admendment you so eloquently posted. did you read it? have you read the patriot act? might want to.

From the POV of the Brittish public, Bush really sucks at his job. The only pearson who seems to think otherwise is our priminister! I really hope that Kerry gets in, because we are starting to get very annoyed with your government, as we already are with our own.

The first election of Clinton, he held a rally in my town at our local airport. I was the only republican near the crowd only reason I was there is because I worked on the airport. I watched Clinton's cronies refuse to allow anyone with a bush sign in. So if you want to make a statement like that remember that both sides do the same thing.

Re: Polls reveals world anger at Bush

I know that a Republican came to a Kerry rally recently and began to heckle him. To which Kerry replied that he was entitled to his opinions because ALL were welcome.

Anyway I read another good article called

Sucking Democracy Dry:
Losing America's birthright, the George Bush way
http://www.villagevoice.com/issues/0442/perlstein.php

I'm interested in your opinions.

It sounds like a drawn out 'its not you, its me' kind of reasoning. Its also is quite biased and one of the many examples is

Quote:
Both sides are not equally bad, and any reporters who don't recognize that conservatism's very core has become shot through with a culture of mendacity should turn in their press badge.
Its one thing to feel that way, but to assume its a universal truth is dishonest. I am not going to dissect the article for the multitude of deficiencies, but I can agree with one of the overall points it alludes to. The political landscape has become to sanitized when political parties come face to face and to vehement when they are alone. Civility was lost long ago and shows no sign of ever coming back. It was no one person or parties fault, but they’ve all been on the slippery slope to the lowest common denominator for decades.
