Re: car logo meanings

The Alfa Romeo one actually does represent what happens to someone when they take thier Alfa into the dealer because the brakes siezed up. All Alfa dealers set snakes upon the complainers and then the Red Cross has to do a mission to that Alfa dealer. Sad story.

I always thought the reason that people thought Subaru was Australian was because they called the jacked-up Legacy and Outback, that's what someone once told me, anyway. It's no loss to Australia, I'd have an HSV Coupe GTS 300 over any WRX.

You've never compared the Infiniti logo to that of Acura??

They aren't identical, but surely you jest if you don't see a similarity. Both isosceles triangular figures enclosed in a circle.

To me, they look sufficiently different.

It's a vanishing point illustration, showing two parallel lines in perspective that continue on from here to infinity.

I replaced my Subaru stars badge with an "i" badge. I'm thinking of fliping it upside down to have an "!" badge.

Here's my guess on acura...

I think the A is a stylized set of calipers kinda like the pair on the left in this picture:

They represent accuracy.

Oh, and I don't get the FIAT explanation at all... what 5 bars?!

Re: Re: Re: car logo meanings

The five bar logo was stuck onto the following Fiats: Uno, Strada/Ritmo, Regatta, Croma, Tempra, Tipo, Brava/Bravo, Coupe, Cinquecento, Seicento, Tipo, Punto Mk1, Marea (The forgotten Fiat ), Ullyse, Panda Multipla and Barchetta. Of course none of these were sold in the US, but it was the definitive Fiat badge for 20-odd years (Until the Mk2 Punto was released where they changed the badge to a Blue Circle with "FIAT" written in it, much like it was 100 years ago).

The story is confusing, but I can confirm that it's all true.

Nice list, although small. I too always thought Subaru was Australian. It wasn't till I joined AF a while back that I realized it wasn't.
