Re: Panda 2.0 vs Pontiac Firebird V6

Actually I don't hate stangs......nor do I hate SR20DET powered cars. The reason my responses are hostile is because the original post was belittling of V6 F-bodies. SO as I always must at this forum.....I try standing up for it

Re: Panda 2.0 vs Pontiac Firebird V6

I love GM's 3800 Series II V6, it's a good motor and all, but the only reason I'd get one over the V8 is because I can't afford insurance on the V8 models. So yeah, the V6 is great, but it's nothing special.

The V6 F-Body owners were belittling him first, genius.

They were calling him a ricer, when in fact, they were the biggest posers of them all...they bought a car called "Camaro", and they thought they were fast. They forgot to check the "+ two more cylinders" options though...

Thay basically bought 1/3rd of the car, at 2/3rds of the price.

Also, YOU'RE the one acting like a ricer right now. WTF is with the "if I slap a turbo on it, it'll smoke you" bullcrap? What are you? In elementary-school?

Tell you what, I have a non-turbo SR20 that's basically stock for your V6 that you are so fucking desperate to get respect for.

Oh, and I'll see your 12-second Nitrous and/or turbo V6 Camaros with this list of turbo SR20's, which has dipped into the 9's (most of the cars on the list are street-legal): http://www.sr20forum.com/showthread.php?t=12387, and raise you this list of naturally-aspirated SR20's that have dipped into the 11's (also mostly street-legal): http://www.sr20forum.com/showthread.php?t=12387

BTW, those two lists are of the FWD variety of SR20's (Sentra SE-R's). Red's is a RWD, and is lighter than my Sentra, and therefore has more potential.

Don't let me embarrass you some more, with a list of what REAL Camaros can do.

I'd ban you for a week for just being an asshat in somebody else's thread, but since this is Red's thread, I'll let him have the "kill".

I do understand why you're the way you're the way you are though...owning a car that looks faster than it is, that is disrespected by V8's, other V6's (including its cousin, the GTP), and four-bangers.

Boo-fucking-hoo.

To tell the truth i've had way more praises about my car than people bashing it. And there would be more 3800 F-bodies in the 11's and 12's and lower if there was as a big a market for them as there is for the SR20DET.

You obviously know nothing about the 3800. How is this engine mated to a 5 speed that much of a joke to you? That combination has seen 14's stock more than once..........yet you act like I should be embarrased. fyi this v6 will give any V8 they put in Camaro from the mid 70's to the late a run for their money. And will kill them in the reliability and gas mileage....

Oh ya...............you are talking shit and you own a 92 Sentra..........

Please, PLEASE just stop.

It is a MID 15 SECOND car with a GODLIKE driver. Most decent drivers will run a high 15.

No one buys a V6 Camaro for performance anyways when the V8 only costs 2-3 thousand more, so you don't need to get all defensive...

Just shut yer trap man, while you're still not too far behind.

The fact that you're sitting here, arguing about how "loved" your fucking car is, tells me just how much YOU wish you had a different car.

You're just justifying, which is pathetic.

My car is quick for what it is, but I will openly (and proudly) call it "my beater", or "my POS", which the way I like it, as most people underestimate my car that way, and get caught by surprise.

As for your car, think about this:
Passenger in a riced-out Civic: "Dude, it's a Camaro! Rev on him!"
Driver of the riced-out Civic: "Yeah! I'll shows him how bAdAsS my new exhaust is!"
Passenger in a riced-out Civic: "Oh wait..."
Driver of the riced-out Civic: "Crap, it's a V6...nevermind."

Learn to live with your car mang...gawd, we have people in here with slower cars than yours that whine less. But then again, THEIR car isn't pretending to be something it's not.

umm..ok Carnuttttt. keep talking. You're making me look better by the post......Explain to me then why 3.8 M5 F-bodies run right with and sometimes beat 94-98 Mustang GT automatics.......? If my car sucks so much what do you think of the GT?

Re: Panda 2.0 vs Pontiac Firebird V6

I have a v6 firebird...it could use better gearing. But it's better than the Taurus I used to have by far; would rather have a V8 but i'm only 17 and insurance would rape me. I have little intentions of making a ton of mods to it, much less racing.

A let's-get-acquainted 15.23/89.5 was followed by a 15.37/90.3, 15.41/89.8 and a 15.47/89.2, with the engine getting successively hotter from being hot-lapped. With the air filter out and the serpentine belt off, the V6 responded after a cooldown with a 15.03/91.0 and a 15.15/90.3.
I'll give you low 15's, but they had to remove some stuff to get it really low. And I don't see a 14 anywhere on there. And it's still a hell of a lot slower than the Z28.

That's exactly the same boat I'm in. I'm only 18 and I can't afford the insurance on a V8, and I don't really want that much power anyways. The V6 is enough for me; if I wanted to fast I'd get the V8 for sure.
