Re: Skylines Drifting

Skylines come three different ways.

GTS non turbo usually a rb20 or rb25
GTS~T meens turbo and same engines
GT~R if you dont know ya betta aks somebody

The GR~R is a awd system that can be disingaged or completely removed. Its the cheepest way to drift with the least amount of mods.

A r32 cost lest than 10g here and only needs the front disingaged to drift like a fool. The GTS T M is a ready to go with the rb25 and bigger turbo its rwd and packs a punch.

I for the life of me cant see what the facination is with the GTR I meen like 12 years ago nobody state side new what it was and wasnt willing to pay the 20g plus rego. Yes Motorx aint done nothin special folks any one of us could have done the same thing. For that kind of money I could think of a few cars more worth while.

And yes Ive drove a few and tuned a few and they still dont turn my crank

Re: Re: Skylines Drifting

Dont the Gtr spec M have more luxury features. They dont look as hardcore as a bonestock V spec.

Re: Skylines Drifting

Well I think they are nice cars. But you can get a Skyline for less then 10gs. Get the Infiniti G35. There is your skyline. I went to the nissan page for Japan and the G35 looks like the new Skylines. And I want to see a vid of the SRT-10 drifting, please.

Other Rotaries

Since someone already filled in the information on the Skyline GTR and the whole Attesa-est thing.

So to answer on the rotary question yes companies other than GM tried to and some successfully did, at least in their own country, produced rotary engines. For example in the 1960s and into the 70s both not only was GM tinkering around with the rotary for its Corvette concept, which did not work since each time they revved the 6 rotary engine a rotary busted out of the ceil and hood, but Volkswagen as well made rotary powered beatles which some people today mod to extreme drag racers.

Also a formal government owned car company in the former Soviet Union called Lada. If you have not heard of this company, people usually relate their cars second cheapest only to the Yugo, but thats only because of their older 110 models. Anywho, they have been tinkering with rotaries since 1978, they have that information and more at this website: http://cp_www.tripod.com/rotary/pg07.htm.

You know Lada made a performance rotary in 1998 that produced 240hp out of two rotaries, and N/A too. And that is like 2-3 years before Mazda ever announced their Renesis. It would be cool if we heard more info on those rotaries to see if Lada is a viable option for them. Even though it does not seem clear whether the site stated as a rumor or fact.
