Re: Why Harley Riders Are Like Ricers

I don't own a bike, or car for that matter, but i love them, i love the sound of harleys, the sound and look of choppers, the performance of sports bikes, and the comfort and relative performance of touring bikes. I hope to own a bike one day (probably a sports bike or something cheap) but unfortunately it won't be untill i can afford a car and bike because bikes are hopelessly useless in canadian winters. I love the thought of someone who spent less than 20,000 (canadian) beat someone who spent huge ammounts of money on a car. my dad has owned a bsa(got stolen), something else of the same type and era, a yamaha virago (for 20 years with no parts replacements other than spark plugs and routine small things) and now owns a honda st1100. He loves bikes and has past on the passion to me and you should hope to see another biker on the road eventually (I'm 16 now so it'll be a while for me to be able to afford one). unfortunately i will probably kill myself because I am a stupid teenaged guy, but I only ever put myself in danger, I can't stand the thought of permanently injuring someone else.

I couldn't disagree more... It's all a matter of taste. I ride a harley, but that doesn't mean i go bashing the japanese bikes. You're mentality is just as bad as one of those cocky one-sided Harley diehards.( hypocrite comes to mind). I own both a Harley 883 XL and an 81 Suzuki GS650. And I enjoy riding them both.

Re: Why Harley Riders Are Like Ricers

I have been riding for 5yrs and on my 2nd harley. It seems to me the only time I don't get a wave from a fellow rider is during bike week, 'cause there is way to many to keep waving all the time, or if they are on a jap bike. Where I live mostly younger crowd on rice being dumb kids w/ front tire in the air as they pass bye.

Re: Why Harley Riders Are Like Ricers

Guess I will ring in, I have and ride a Harley FLHT a Buell and a Busa. I wave to evryone and everyone waves back, I have attended STURGIS on all types of bikes over the years. One and only rule is treat all bikers the same or as was said you may be tasting a 450$ helmet. I get a kick out of both groups depending what I am on. Everyone on there 600s want to race my dresser, then say not that when I return on the BUSA then HD riders say I need a real bike then, I ride my lady and on trip on the dresser and play on the others.
Later and ride safe.
