Re: SCC's Ultimate Street Car Challenge 2004
The bad 1/4 times seem to stem from the track just sucking, from what everybody's saying... LACR? It was over 100 degrees on an already iffy track, so... what traction? heh. The dyno seems to be stingy, too. A lot of the cars have put down lower numbers during the competition, haven't they?
Kinda funny. Reading about it, it sounds like the Miata out-trapped all the other cars in the quarter. Some of the forums are giving that guy major props for what he accomplished, considering his lack of resources beforehand and that it is a dedicated drag car. Lighting up the tires in 4th gear on a straight sounds kinda like fun... |

Re: SCC's Ultimate Street Car Challenge 2004
1. this year, the editors voted on the cars
2. the results are fact. check out www.mr2oc.com and www.supraforums.com and www.rx7club.com and www.dallasimports.com if you don't believe me. it's all over the message boards. just because you didn't know about it does not make someone else (eg, me) a liar. 3. according to brad bedell (the winner), the track had a lot of sand/dust on it, which resulted in poor traction across the board, and they measured the times using a radar, which has a margin of error. the times, according to everyone that competed, were probably slightly faster than the "official" results, but the error should have been consistent across the board.
