Re: Considering an 04 SVT, BUT...

WTF? Youre going to spend more in the end with the Mach 1 making it fast as you would with the Cobra. Try getting 500rwhp out of the Mach 1 with only $2k worth of mods.

Re: Considering an 04 SVT, BUT...

Yea, we have all come to the conclusion that zx2srdotnet is a moron...

As for my previouse question about the internals of the 03+ svt motor I did some reserch about it and fount that it uses forged pistons as well as a forged crank. However, I am still unaware of the rod material, all I know is that SVT's spokes person said they were "Beefed up"...

Well... the Cobras all have Forged Crankshaft but the 03 ALSO has forged rods and pistons!

There are 03+ Cobras that are making 800rwhp(which is close to 1000 crank hp) on stock internals!

Re: Considering an 04 SVT, BUT...

Well, just found out the rods are forged "H-beam" connecting rods from Manley Manufacturing... It doesent get any better than that.

Dude, im feel all funny about this motor! Its the first engine I have been able to look at the bottom end and say to myself "I should leave that stock" this has got to be the badest bottom end in history!

The heads still have some room for improvment, but so far they are looking pretty tip top as well!

I bet this motor could take at least 800Hp-800Tq before blowing up, the transmition however....

Re: Considering an 04 SVT, BUT...

Sorry, beefiest bottom end goes to the ford 427s of the 60s. Cross bolted mains, all forged internals, thick cyl walls... now those things were stout! Cobra shortblocks are definately the stoutest production block in recent production, though

Re: Considering an 04 SVT, BUT...

One my buddies has 03 SVT with exhaust, intake, chip, injectors and he "says" it put about 390 to ground, at least to my knowledge with a little amount of money/work you can get quite a few ponies. There are other options 02 M3 or Vette for 39k

Re: Considering an 04 SVT, BUT...

Umm, only 390 at the wheels? He must be doing something wrong. I have whitnessed with my own two eyes (So I dont give a crap if you think its right or not) an 03 svt put down 410 sae corrected ponies with only an intake headers and full exaust with X pipe. Thats alot of power considering I can put all this together for around $200 (I own a tig welder)

"WOW! That rocks man... Im going to have to look into that!

Whats your MOS? What branch of the military also?

I am going to fort Benning GA on the 25th of this month for osut as an infantryman. I got a recomendation for special forces from my job counselor. He said "So you want to be a ranger eh? You think your a baddass son?" to which I replied "Hell yea Sir" then he made me do fifty pushups on the office floor and gave me my recomendation. LOL." HONDABOND

~if you get the chance to go to ranger school do it. this goes with any other school as well... air assualt, airborne, sniper, sapper, whatever. my only advice is dont get your head up your butt thinking your all that cause you went osut through ranger school. get some experience before your head swells and the guys that've been in a while pop it. lol

~i'm a 96R Ground Survellience Systems Operator. basically forward recon for military intelligence. as for the rest PM me and ill tell you more. no offense intended but this is a mustang forum and we're a little off topic.
