That came out beautiful

I'd like to built one of these too as the 1970 Daytona winning car of Pedro Rodriguez/Leo Kinnunen (I haven't done any research on that though, so I'm not how straightforward it would be to built this car from Fujimi kit and where to get correct decals).

Stunning, simply stunning!
Since you stole the decals out of another kit could there be another livery variation is in the works?
Are you making a profit out of building for customers, or was it a labour of love? Hope you don't mind me asking.
And we have two more current 917K builds on this forum to look forward to as well

Mikko, the Fujimi kit has the extra roof window for the Daytona banking, for regular machines an opaque plastic blanking panel is supplied. Datona cars aslo ran with a spotlight on the lefthand side from memory? Don't know where you'd find decals, the old Union kit had a Daytona variation but the decals weren't the best. You most likely could cobble something together using the Gulf kit sheet and a few spares.

I've got the Union kit and one of the Fujimi Gulf kits. In comparing the decals, if you painted the orange stripe and used ST27 P/E, all you would need to make the Daytona version is the right size #2s and another Firestone decal.

Phil & p9o1r1sche, thanks for the info. Last night I noticed that Fujimi is going to release the Monza 1000km winner of Rodriguez/Kinnunen, that would be the easiest way to do a winning car of these drivers.

Woohoo, the '71 Martini Le Mans winner as well! Both with the finned tail. Don't you just love Fujimi's overkill?

Fantastic! Too bad about the roundels. Regardless, though, its a beautiful build. The new owner will be very pleased and proud. Top notch build!
