Re: stock prelude vs stock type r

I'd rather have a Lotus Elise or Ferrari Testarossa than a Prelude SH that's twice as fast as either of them...

Sure...you could put some major money into your honda and have it running 600whp of beast pushing you into the 9's and 10's. But, WHY? Unless you're set out to own the world's fastest honda, get yourself a ferrari for christ sakes.

Hondas are slow. Have a nice day.

Did I mention i love hondas?
I know plenty of honda's here in Atlanta that are in the 11 and 12's and 3 that are in the 10's. They are daily drivers too. You just have to know how to get the power out of a honda motor. Also yea with basic mods you can expect not to see any better than 14's, but hey you still retain great gas mileage and your car will still run for alot more miles.

Oh and Ferrari's don't run 10' or 9's they don't even run 11's and 12's they run mostlt in the 13's. They were not built for drag racing, take them to the twisties and you will see what they were made for. And that is also where honda's have an advantage IMHO. So what if you can run a 10 sec 1320 how about the mountain runs? How about auto x etc? There is more to racing than drag racing.

Re: stock prelude vs stock type r

I can't understand half the gibberish you are saying Sballer, but if you can beat a 300zx 2+2.. good for you. I would still take one over any regular production honda short of an S2000 or NSX. Not to mention the 300zxTT can push around 400hp with minimal modification. (I can't wait to get mine!)

It's going to be tough to part with my honda, but it's not really worth investing the money in. You could go dump your 27000 dollars into your prelude to make it 500hp, and still nobody will pay anything over 10,000 for the car.

By the way, the 1979 jaguar I was talking about only set us back maybe.. 7 grand. Roughly the price of a used VTEC prelude. Where's your extra money now?

This thread is hilarious...our "beloved Prelude" lol

What Prelude comes 205hp stock?

Never heard or seen of that. Not even the Japan versions.

Sballer: Attempting to decipher your crass coding leaves pounding ones own head with a hammer more desirable. How do you sleep at night.

I have to agree with whtteg, the S2k for ex., it's a commom misconception that it was built for drag. it isnt, all its peak power is in the upper rpm band take the thing through some twisties then you'll know its true purpose

Thats exactly how i feel about the whole Import vs. Domestic thing. So what if your Muscle car can go faster then me in s STRAIGHTLINE.lets battle it out on the Togue thats where the real drivng skill comes in. i know there's a great deal of skill required for drag but i think Mountian runs, Canyon runs, togue is just much more challenging and more difficult to master.

BTW- when i say togue i dont mean drift

We are talking about import vs. import. Togue means freshwater fish, so if you want to battle it out Iron Chef style...

As for MOUNTAIN RUNS: I live on the west coast at the foothills of some of the highest, most jagged mountains in the US aside from Alaska and Colorado. Not many of the roads on them are very curvy. Granted, I haven't been on all of them, but most aren't. There are some windy roads in the mountains in california, but they are being heavily enforced by the local law enforcement because of idiots going up there thinking they know how to drive a car. Ugh.. we are in the US, not Japan.

I don't mean to bust your balls 510, but I just felt the need to get that out. I do agree that driving through blind corners at high speeds, finding your threshholds, and balancing your car with the right brake/gas input is more challenging & fun than drag racing, but do not discount it as something that any Joe can do, especially when you get in high horsepower cars. Turning consistant low times requires skill.

I believe that the ITR will take the prelude in any aspect mentioned above. Handling (except maybe the SH stock for stock) or drag.

EDIT: 510.. there's an edit button.

My dear friend... I'm probably putting more ponies to the pavement then you've ever had with your Prelude. No, I don't just have i/h/e . Let's hear all your 300zxTT-killing mods.

Would you rather have that Civic HB, or would you rather have a Viper?

Tuning a car is tough as shit and requires alot of patience and technical knowhow. Especially with something like Hondata or the AEM EMS. I'm just saying that watching a car do drag isn't nearly as fun as watching a car running through twisties. I guess I prefer my car to be a well rounded union of the two.

Maybe if my slow ass lude was a racecar.. So you beat a 4644 lb 340 hp truck that has a bunch of harley logos on it.. Any stock prelude VTEC will take that, maybe not off the launch, but def. in the quarter.

Nobody said preludes didn't have potential. All cars have potential. We were talking about a stock ITR vs stock Prelude VTEC. It's no wonder why people go around saying that these ricers think their hondas are the fastest cars ever.

/yourself.

Dude I really hope you don't expect anybody to take one word seriously and I say word because there is not one complete sentence in you incoherent gibberish. I am not even going to go any further with this because your posts reflect your creditability.

OMG that edit button has made life so much easier thanks for the heads up, as for drag thing requiring skill to do, I 100% agree you may have overlooked that i did say Drag require's skill, as for the whole mountain driving thing, differnt people have different opinions same can be said about people living in differnt locations, and i happen to live in a part of So Cal thats filled with Twisties, long curvy roads, and 180 deg. turns. i respect your opinion but i think it doesnt apply to everyone

I wouldn't happen to be one of those "idiots" your talking about right? only time i drive canyons/mountains is when its an organized event.

No. I think the idiots are the ones that falsely claim to be good drivers. I, for the record, do not claim to be a good driver. Michael Shumacher is a good driver.

I don't know what you meant by opinion, but if you want one, I think the word Togue is one of those JDM words that people say because they watch too much Best Motoring.

Again, no flammage implied 510.
