Re: grand am race

No problem. I was just having so much fun setting up my web site, then I remembered the avitar setting was only 100X100 and couldn't figure out how to get a picture that small. Then I found it on the photo editing software.
I can't wait to go out and find out what my car can really do now with this new CAI I put in it. If I can just figure out the take off. No peal out, and that would work out good. But not to lite, or I'll still have a bad start. Did you have your 1/4 mile listed on the forum somewhere?

Re: grand am race

Sounds good. I've just begun. Now I just need to come up with enough money to do the major upgrades. I do want to eventualy get the full exhaust system. That's quite a bit now. Maybe one peice here and there untill I have all the peices.lol I think thy come as a set though. Cat back($599)or($389.99), then headers($729.99).

Re: grand am race

omg , the exhaust is expensive either way. I increased the pipe diameter to 2 1/2 inch and put bottles on it for 230 dollars. Cat back is cool though cus you can still have the dual exhaust look.

Re: grand am race

Are you gonna get rid of your top speed limiter?
I got a delco performance chip and a jet performance module on mine. The delco removes the top speed limiter and the jet makes a artificial stall of 1000 to 1200 rpms for take off and tightens trans line pressure too. The jet was 200 bucks and the delco was 500 bucks plus 60 shipping both ways.

Was it just wore out or what? Is it something you should have replaced like bearings or something just to be safe? Or was it just I bigger failure? (did it shred or what?)
I knew someone who found an old Firebird with a 350 with a turbo. It was in someones yard with grass growing around it. He paid $50, brought a battery, and a portable air tank for the tires. After about 50 miles, the turbo gave out.

Re: grand am race

the bearings seazed up inside and kinda shredded insides up. I felt so dumb putting that old peice of crap in. Im looking to get something to lowwer my compression so i can use higher boost without botching anything then ill use a small turbo , im not too concerned with top speed.

As has already been said you shouldn't be bringing back old threads. If the topic interests you start a new thread about it. Thanks for understanding.
