I don't precisely know what you guys were talking about since a post was deleted or something, but when I stated "six figures", I was talking about the 'Ultimate Celica's' estimated cost to build: $500,000. As for $65,000, that is Miltown_Racer's number, and neither I, nor any source I can find can second it.

Don't worry Morph, I got your back, he deleted that post before I could get at him.

Mrcoilover: That's what I mean. It's a nice car, but not to my liking and ishhh.

Oh I see, thanks for clearing that up.

I think I would go with the GT-S MAINLY because it's a newer design. Even though (here in the States) the P11 isn't that old, it's already been around for some time in Japan and elsewhere, and is currently being replaced with the funky P12 Primera around the globe. I'd sure hate to get a current model G20 and suddenly have the new body pop up next year... makes you feel kind of like you bought the state-of-the-art computer only to find it obsolete soon after. (Of course this is all hypothetically speaking. Some are saying that the '03 spring-bound G35 is not just a simple addition to Infiniti's lineup--it's a replacement for the G20. That's sad).

Hey there's still one good buying factor for all the G20s: the SR20DE. There are plently of nicely working CARB legal turbo kits for it, and it has nearly a decade's worth of aftermarket research, as opposed to the new Toyota/Yamaha 2ZZ-GE which is moving along rather slowly (XS is the only one I know off the top of my head who makes a turbo kit for it and it's not even street legal. Are there others?).

No other turbo kits that I know of. I would like to turbo my G but. I don't know about how reliable it is after that and so forth. Plus the G20's value is about to plop. Ain't tryin to be stuck with a car that depreciates bad.

This Celica was built by Toyota and Millen as a crazy idea. It uses the early-90's celica's AWD (which can take a lot of power, obviously), and it uses a huge turbo and every other trick in the book. So it makes 500 hp and 300 or so lb-ft. It is slow, though, taking more than 5 seconds to reach 60 mph. If it would be made, it would be cheaper (no duh its gonna cost at least half a mill to design and make one-off parts!), and would be like a Supra.
Too bad it sucks, IMO, considering the price (probably 40+grand).

Hope this clears some of the confusion up.

Price and everything is a little absurd, but I don't know about 500hp/300lb of torque being slow. It would get a WRX and that ain't slow. How you figure?

A Subaru WRX is less than half the price it would sell for. It is slow, because 5 seconds at this price is slow. A new Z06 does 60 in "under 4 seconds". It is slow because it has been tested, and it revs so high, its really hard to get the power to the ground. Bog em or burn em, and I think its weaker then they are saying. And its top speed is slow, at 150 mph, which is really slow for a 500 hp car. So it sucks, IMHO. See an old C&D for details. I will maybe look for it tonight (Maybe!)

Your eating your own words. Now look at a price of a Z06. I know regular corvettes go for about 50-55k. So if you put $20k worth of work into a WRX then it will get a your Z06vette.

It would. Unless you spend an extra 5 grand on each (blower for the vette), then the vette wins.

But I'm sayin that this Celica isnt to good at all.

I see what your saying though dawg. I wouldn't even think about getting one. It's still a celica. Or is it? Nah but uh, I think the celica gt-s
are a very well done car. Needs more torque, but with a little work it can stay with the RSX-S and it is made good being 97% japanese made.

O contrare mofrare my friend. Actually I just remember seeing that on the sticker of the gt-s. Or you can just divide somethin by somethin and you get 97%. Simple as that.

500hp and 300 torque and only capable of 5 second? That's doesn't sound right at all. The car doesn't weight 5000 lbs or anything.
