most ecotecs are non turbo...in the US they are found mainly in cavaliers and some other chevy cars..the ion might have one

they put 140hp and 40Tq (official numbers) at the crank

the vx220 is made in england on a modified lotus elise platform with a turbo ecotec and i just gave it as an example of the highest factory output ecotec(that i know of at least)

)Neutrinon you said the ecotec has 40ftlb of tq. lolz its not a bike man.

j/p i know i'm just busting your chops.

and mycivic it seems like your learning alot. who knows maybe some day you might not even be a honda man anymore once you see how many other good powerful and high potential engines are out there.

toyota: 3SGTE. found in the MR2 turbos. its a turbo I4 that is 2.0 liters big it comes with 200hp and 200ftlb of tq. most of its power comes at only 3000rpm. the motor can handle around 400hp stock. it comes iwth 440cc injectors and you can run 12's with the thing by turning up the boost, doing bolt ons, and by gettin rid of that nasty fuel cut after 14-15psi.

2JZ-GTE. the supra twin turbo motor. its a 3.0 liter I6 that has been proven to be able to handle over 900 hp at the wheels on its stock internals. the car with just bolt ons can make over 400hp at the wheels. the car stock already puts down almost 300whp. ( as much as a LS1 )

mitsubishi: the first and second gen eclipse ( the DSM's ) all comes witht he u.s. spec 4G63. those can handle up to around 400whp before they go. so its another very rugged turbo 4 cylinder engine.

japanes spec 4G63. these engines are found on the EVOLUTIONS. they look nothing like the u.s spec 4G63. if you look at it, the timing belt sprocket is on a different direction. this motor doesn't have the problems that hte u.s spec 4G63 have ( crank walking issues ) and it can hold around 450 hp at the wheels remember this is for all 4 wheels.

twas actually my main reason me joining AF. i have the passion for cars...just not enough, thats why am trying to learn more about them rather than just dreaming i have exotic sports cars.

***edit*** and i must say...i have learned a lot past couple of months just by reading some posts.

you mean almost as much as a LS1, because nothing comes with more stock hp than a LS1. duhh.. well maybe except for the upcoming LS2!

140 tq ; 40 tq...same thing

well actually the first gen DSM have no crank walk issues...the 6 bolt in particular were bulittproof

well yeah i was goin to mention that. but i'm not 100% sure of the number of bolts for which gen crank shaft. and fatninja silly me. i was too over my head. your right. nothing comes close to putting down as much power stock as a LS1 or a LS6 except for maybe the next LS2.

on the side note: speaking of LS2's. i saw a cut away picture of the drive train for the C6 Vette. what i find very interesting is that the thing has a transaxle in the rear. yet the magazine mentions nothing of it. but it supposidly has the same tranny as the C5 vette. so where the C5 vettes transmission places in the rear as well? or is only the C6 like this? or am i just goin crazy?
