And you are a lair. So please.... don't speak anymore. Look at the facts.... understand how the corvette is designed for balance... and cry because your Vr4 doesn't have it. Your Vr4 can't out handle the c5 vette... i'm sorry dude... go look at the facts.

facts? while all you know is what you read, i drove the facts and i've tested the facts. i know the facts! either that or how bout you show me the facts
my car stops faster than your car what does that have to do with anything at 100mph slowing down to 90 to hit a curve that says 40mph.
oh and since this thread is old thats my last comments.

Dude... seriously...

You are seriously retarded.... i thought i gave you a little hint on the last post about your " skid pad " issue. But the retard that you are didn't pick it up..... A skid pad has NOTHING TO DO WITH BRAKING!!!!! Do you understand that? I own a Vette, i have drivin many imports including a stupid VR4. Trust me, you are out of your league.... just stay quiet, and don't make yourself sound even more stupid. Why don't you look at the facts like a said... The Vette pulls just over 1g on the skid pad..... remember... skid pad doesn't mean a brake test.... it has nothing to do with brakes.... don't forget, ok? Your Vr4 can only do .90 on the skid pad until it looses traction and looses control. It has everything to do with handling and then balance of the vehicle. Like i said.... understand how the C5 vette is designed and cry because you Vr4 doesn't have it.

Re: Why did Mitsubishi discontinue the 3000GT

Some people will argue about 'facts' without offering hard, independently obtained numbers.
A drag race between a C5 vette and a VR-4 would be close, and would be more a question of driver skill and reaction time.
Also, a skid pad is just a circle track, that a car drives around as fast as it can go. Its lap time is used to mathematically calculate the g figure. It is a question of the cars balance (especially the center of gravity), the suspensions ability to control tire and body angles, tire grip (HUGE impact on result), and, to a minor extent, power.
But, its not everything by a long shot.
Slalom gives a better overall indication of a cars 'balance'.
Lap times are important to.
Oh, and the base vette has runflat tires, with good, non-runflat tires, it pulls about 1.0g.

And around most (if not all) road coarses, Id put my money on the vette. The lower weight, and more useable powerband, aswell as greater torque, should allow it to make transitions easier (around a tight s-bend, im willing to bet that a vette would gain significant time on a VR-4).
But, I dont have test results, so, thats bench racing for ya.

Also, a vette (well, the LS1 and LT1 in general), are much more tuneable than a VR-4 engine, which is already pretty stressed.

Now, can we let this thread die.......

Thumbs up 3000gt/steath tt

i think camaro's and firebirds are alright for the money and they do have plenty of power but when it comes to 300gt/steath tt i don't evn think there's a comparison.

all i have installed on my stealth is bov and it z28's

also i just can't handle going in a straight line that's why i chose an awd car.

camaro's might keep up pretty good in straight line but let's race on a curvy road or what about a wet road. it wouldn't even be close

Re: Why did Mitsubishi discontinue the 3000GT

camaro's are fine if you want what everybody else has. but if you want to be diffrent i would recommend a stealth tt because they no longer make them and there rare.

also z28's are fine for a straight line (boring)
let's race on a cury or wet road and let's see who comes out in the end

Re: Why did Mitsubishi discontinue the 3000GT

Camaros are cool but everyone and their garandma has them, same with mustangs. There are 2 domestic cars that will turn my head a viper and a corvette, only to see if its a zo6.

The highway patrol in california uses camaros.

Re: Why did Mitsubishi discontinue the 3000GT

So.... Vr4 power... let me get this straight... by the facts that you are stating... The C5 is better with handling then the VR4? What facts did i need to check again? You said the C5 basic model vette does a skid pad of .92 which isn't true its high.. but only how, and the vr4 at .90. Then you can look at the site for the 1/4 mile times for a basic C5 vette, not a z06 ---> http://www.magneticred.com/performance.html
And about the EVO... --->
What was that about 4.8 secs 0-60 and 13.1 in a 1/4? Ya......
Oh and youngvr4 yes you still are retarded... you thought the skid pad was a braking test... please just shut up, you are already discredited about your knowledge of cars.

Re: Why did Mitsubishi discontinue the 3000GT

The facts you needed to check was you said a c5 does 1g. Also the c5 being .02 better on the skid pad makes it way better. With the evo thats like on a shity day with the worst conditions most of the time it will be from 13.3-13.5. Also mitsubishi made a ralliart evolution(only in the uk as of now but to be in the states in a 2-3 years) 330bhp 0-60 in 4.4 top speed electronicly limited to 157. In a straight line or course its a drivers race i think, but if it was a zo6 it would be the zo6.
