It doesn't have side skirts.

The second one does not have side skirts either.
The "AE85" kit comes from Fujimi, they don't give you another body, just the same that comes with the rest of the Levins. But now, buy any of the Truenos, regardless of the box art, there's a risk that you won't get the Kouki one (happened to me with the Toghe series car.) since it's just a re-boxed Initial D one with different decals. FYI, the body shape for the coupe levins compared to the 3-Door, is different, the head light assembly is a different size, trust me I tried.

Anyways, cool Trueno here! Hope it comes out the way you want it too! And I see you got the Kouki model, unlike me even though the instructions and box art show that one.

I don't think it was ever clarified exactly what year it is.. Any AE86 would do... and since Initial D and drifting is so mainstream now.... expect to pay about $5,000 for a Trueno now... sorry but its true.. If you find one for a lot cheaper its probably over used and abused.. pEAS!!!

Or the SR-5 model, which is a SOHC (4A-C), while the GT-S is the DOHC (4A-GE ). Remember, don't buy the car just because you saw a cartoon, buy it because you love it to death! Intial D makes the car something it's not.......... unless you're that skilled.

i ono i mean that anime could drive you to get better at handling the hachi drifting or whatever you choose to do with it so i mean it depends on the way you look at it

I for one, know that a stock GT-s, SR-5, Hachi, or whogivesaflyingfu*k (whatever peeps call it nowadays) WILL NOT beat an R32, sure it may not understeer as harshly, but it will never win.. unless Tsuchiya drives the trueno and a blind man pilots the R32, at any rate.. that show is for fun, I mean, if I tried to drift practice by not spilling a cu of water, it would get me only one skill... knowing how to get really wet, really fast.. If you think that buying an 86 will make you drift and not even have to try to have an expression(as that kid in Initial D does) you're wrong.. I know you don't but any ricer who wants to Panda paint a SR5 and race a Silvia, do one thing for me... Tell ur Mom I said "sup" when you go crying to her for losing..!!!!! as for you, 454SS, good luck and PEas!!!!

Cool!! The spoiler seems to be coming out really well, but you're making the one that is "molded" on to the rear hatch right?

Man do I love seeing other AE86 progress builds!

yeah, I'm making the mold-on one I guess...(I didn't know there's another version, LOL) but I think Keiichi's Trueno is using the mold-on type =P

The wing you're making is actually the replacement of the whole rear hatch:

The one I'm making is the TRD wing:

You see the differance, right?
