Well another day (or night), another doller

Spent the night finishing up in the cabin detail but may add a bit more to the rear yet.

Also got the photoetch fins etc onto the body ready for painting (will scratch like hell if you try to do it afterwards)

Hi all,

not a lot too report this week although, yet again, I am starting a long stint of nights (5), this means that I can't get any spraying done but does mean that I can start work on the second car, the 2002 Sard version.

The chassis is now complete and the body has had all fins etc attached and is in primer waiting for a light sand down and first white (rear end and side skirts) and then the blue. After hours at the paint rack in my local hobby store, I finally decided on (if I recall correctly) TS15. The problem with the ST27 kits is 'blue' is all the instructions say

Hi folks,

It's been a while since I updated so I thought I would put the latest 'news' up.

Sorry the pics are bad, done using flash and bad batteries

The story so far:-

Interior. The entire interior has been carbon fibred, floor, tunnel etc, as has the outer edge of the dash. Various tubes, cables etc have also been added. All of the ventilation tubes come with the kit. The switches on the dash were pretty poor so they were sanded off and new positions drilled and wire pushed through.

Rear/Trunk. Not much done here, pipes added to the coolant(?) bottle and the thin tubes put on the shocks. The rear suspension is one molded piece so the springs were filed away and replaced with solder.

Bodywork. The fins at the front of the skirts are PE stuff, very fiddley, these were added before painting, as were the optional front fins. The body has been painted blue and will soon have the rear, skirts and front lip done in white. No polishing has been done yet.

Problems. The main problen so far has been in attaching the wheels/brakes. The hubs, if that's the right word, that come out the back of the brake disks were all too long and required shortening by about 3-4mm to get the wheels inside the arches. Another problem that I foresee is the clearance between the front of the rollcage and the windshield. This should be easily solved by sanding/filing the roll cage slightly, no problem.

I will get better pics up after I have done a bit more to the body.

Hi,

Been a while since I updated this, not a lot happening recently, just slowly working on the white areas, not all decals fit and new pieces need to be cut and worked on.

Here a some (bad) pics showing this weeks progress.

Will get better pics once the decalling and detail painting is complete.

Richie
