Hello, some pics of the 3D/CG assembly scheme of Aoshima 86 from their facebook page, different colours=separate parts

If you are on facebook please go give them some support by liking their page

Different colours = different parts

The front with hood removed, still needs an engine:

Rear with trunk removed, odd feature imo:

And the interior:

Re: Toyota 86 by Aoshima

So we can expect a half-engined version in the near future then.

With the under hood area so crowded on the real car, I guess it would work out alright.

Re: Toyota 86 by Aoshima

Well, as it's written on 1999.co.jp Tamiya version of Toyota/Subaru siblings will have engine (http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10183395).
And Aoshima kit is pretty detailed even with opening trunk hood. Maybe there will some after-market add-on for Aoshima kit with engine and some tuning stuff? That would be pretty straight-forward for a kit of beloved tuners car.

Re: Toyota 86 by Aoshima

Aoshima released two curbside R35 GT-R kits for 2800 yen each in July 2008, and the detailed version with engine parts for 3200 yen in October of the same year. I think the 86 kit will follow the same marketing strategy.

I wonder what kind of variation they had in mind when they decided to make the trunk lid separate.

Maybe they intend on making a Super VIP Woofer kit (the ones with three massive speakers and amplifiers in the trunk) like they made in the past. j/k

Yup, what Hiro said.

Man, I'm so stoked. I just think these are such pretty little cars, can't wait to examine 'em in hand-held 3D.

Re: Toyota 86 by Aoshima

I like the look of that deep engine bay, the sump and the gearbox. Looks like it is going to have a full engine like their AE86.

Re: Toyota 86 by Aoshima

Is it just me but I think it's a totally bland looking coupe with non-original looks. I think the Nissan 350Z/370Z has already fullfilled everything that this is trying to acheive.

I could excited is some new rally car models models were released by the Japanese manufacturers but they seem do have discarded these totally.
