True.

I think that those that built it (I can't remember who the sponsors were.. parhaps Rod Millen?) half-intended the car to be an advertisement-oriented show car, to showcase lots of aftermarket parts with a high peak horsepower, rather than to be a track star.

lolz i was surprised that you were friend was that dumb. hahaha think about it, a R34 Skyline GT-R V-spec II can barely take on a M3 at the track. what makes you think a lowely Celica GT can do? its not even a GT-S for cryin out loud. a Integra GS-R is more then a match for the GT. in fact a GS-R can kill a GT. and a Type R integra can beat a Celica GT-S. and soo can the last generation Prulude. now those cars are a class below the M3. the M3 and the GT-R in my opinion are the worlds fastest coupes.

So if you take a Rod Millen/TRD Celica even then, you could take a M3 V8 GTR

Not true. A skyline is the only stock procuction car to break the 8-minute barrier and the Nordeshlief section of the Nurburgring.

I agree the M3 would just shit all over the Celica and not even break a sweat! Besides after you dust that Toy you could cruise in style

Mass produce production car. That means a certain amount of units produced per year. Ferrari do not make enough of their high end cars to be classed as such. Same with Meclearon F1 and Lambo's.
I wish I could remember the units needed to be classes as production but I believe it would be over 100,000

It think 5000 is a good goal for 'production'. 100000 would mean there could be no S2000's, M3's, S4's, and others that are most certainly production cars.
