Re: Recap of 'Rest of the World' F1 Fleet

Bahrain is a small country but it seems #08R & #006 owners don't go together on a single event, what a pity.

Some more of #021 in Singapore, with a poorly maintained rim and something interesting [if anyone can shed some light on it?] taped on the steering wheel

Probably a warning not to start the engine if it is stored dry, or a warning not to exceed a certain speed because of the travel lugs.

Hello McLaren F1 fans, owners, enthusiasts!

Firstly, I want to say (type) that you are amazing in what you do. Before registering on your site, I have never even thought people like you exist. I'm referring to your love for McLaren F1's and unimaginable thorough analysis of each F1 ever produced. Respect!

Now, I'm introducing myself like this, please click the link below, it will take you to AF forums>in general>hot and not section.

Thank you.

Secondly, I was reading racent pages here and I have one question regarding #009. Does anybody know where it is, who is it stored, who keeps it and where? Why I'm asking? Because I have a surprise for you if you tell me, I will upload pictures and text in specific thread where you think is appropriate, about #009 from issue #603 of CAR magazine. I am sure there are many of you who don't have the option to buy that magazine due to not living in the UK area and would love to read, eventhough they know everything about the particular McLaren.
I come from Croatia, but there is a multimedia bookshop where they often have new issues of CAR magazine, and some others as well.

That would be all for now. Thank you for reading. You already have one new F1 fan here, hope I will be an active forum member.

You are aiming for just one sweet spot in the corner. It's the point where centrifugal and cornering forces reach their equilibrium, where they are all at once replaced with acceleration. APEX - The invisible vertex of a corner, a place where the fastest lap times are recorded.

Thanks for your contribution. Chassis 009, as far as its last known owner and location was in the collection of Barry Fitzgerald in Melbourne, Australia. He has owned the car since about 2005 if I recall correctly. It's appearance in this article you have shared which was based in England had been a little puzzling, offering the suggestion the car might have changed hands but it has appeared back in Australia again since then.

Looking forward to more participation from another enthusiast.

Re: Recap of 'Rest of the World' F1 Fleet

Is it possible it was shipped back to uk for a major service then returned to OZ and was loaned to the magazine in the interim?

Re: Recap of 'Rest of the World' F1 Fleet

Depending on the timing of the article it probably just remained in the UK following the F1 Tour and was used before going back home.
