That's the whole reason I want to do this swap. So far as I know, it's only been done once in a 1G/3G (3G Civic), the fabrication will be fun, there is a ton of aftermarket support, and a stock N/A RSX K20 is as powerful as a modified B-series. When weighing the pros and cons of building a motor to produce 200HP or swapping in a stock motor that already produces over 200HP, I realized that the cost of the K20 pays for itself.

As soon as I dig the car out and get it home I'll post some pics. Right now it would just be a picture of a white spot in a field of shoulder high grass.

Yes, my CRX was destined do become one of those old cars you see rusting away in some old farmers field, I'm glad I got it back!

Re: passenger brake doesn't work! Help please!

Oops...

I sold the car again.

I replaced it with a Porsche 944.

No disrespect to the 1G/3G, but the 944 is a much better platform. It's a front engine RWD car (F/R) but the tranny is in the rear for an almost perfect 50/50 weight balance. Plus, it doesn't have plastic fenders.

Re: passenger brake doesn't work! Help please!

I think I'm about the only one left.

My MR2 and Porsche projects don't leave me with a whole lot of time to spend on the forums but I try to check in about twice a week, otherwise questions don't seem get answered.

Re: passenger brake doesn't work! Help please!

Working on my dash swap (found another stock one), and am waiting on e-bay for a driver's side sideskirt. Need to get my b18 project up and running. Having a kid and a wife really tends to put a damper on things. :P

Re: passenger brake doesn't work! Help please!

Just to keep things going...

I might be picking up a 94 Integra this weekend. The seller is waiting for another offer to come in before he decides who to sell the car to.

This is something I just don't understand; If someone has cash in hand and is making a reasonable offer on your car, why not sell it? I just don't get this whole "first dibs" policy, it has bitten me in the ass on several occasions when I have tried to sell something, so now I have a "show me the money" policy.

Oh well, I probably don't need the car anyway since I already have two other cars I'm building. I actually don't plan turn this car into a project (as I have a habit of doing), I just wanted it so I could have a fun daily driver until I get either the Porsche 944 or MR2 turbo back on the road.

Talk to you guys later...

Re: passenger brake doesn't work! Help please!

To make an even 1,200 posts, here's a Porsche project update (if anyone cares). I've got the interior completely stripped out and have repainted everything inside gloss gray. BTW, when I say I've completely stripped out the interior, I mean, I have COMPLETELY stripped out the interior. There is nothing left to remove, not even the seam sealer!

I've pulled out as much useless wiring as possible and left only what is needed to keep the engine running, made brackets to mount the race seat and wired in a "real" start button/switch. I'm also making my own Delrin suspension bushings and as soon as those are done I'll lower the car using a set of 26mm rear torsion bars and 250lb front springs that got for a steal of a price. I've also replaced all the struts and front wheel bearings.

But here's the interesting part...
I recently picked up a 99 Pontiac GTP Supercharged V6 L67 to swap in! These motors put out around 240 HP in stock form, the one I picked up has oversized injectors and an underdrive pulley in the supercharger to add a little more boost/hp.

To quote my hero Cartman...

Re: passenger brake doesn't work! Help please!

Quick question... Does the 1G Rex have any sort of VSS that I can pull from? I have an older Dana cruise control that needs a VSS signal (previous previous owner had it hooked up, but the tranny has been replaced and the wires cut...). Pulled the seats out and am currently cleaning out the entire interior. Will post pics w/new dash and clean interior.

Re: passenger brake doesn't work! Help please!

Yup, you need an 84-87 CRX HF VSS. It is part of the speedometer head so you will need the whole HF speedometer gauge. 86+ Integras and 88+ Civics also use a VSS.

Just be sure to get a VSS from the same manufacturer as your speedo cluster otherwise the swap gets kinda' tricky. Honda used two manufacturers for their speedometers, Nippon Denso and Sekei. They look the same at first glance, but they are constructed very differently.

I don't want your 5th gen hatch fenders... I want actual fenders for my car. :P And we'll defenitely need to post up some before and after pics. Here's a teaser.
