No idea on the cosmetic hgs. I use mls so not to familiar with those hgs. I always replace it tho just to be sure it won't leak

I'll check on Tuners. I really think they're a muti-use piece. Really don't want to spend another $80 for a headgasket.

3 other rings are ordered.

Re: david-b's 95 Eagle Talon ESi-T Motor Build

Update for this week...

-Still waiting on the rest of the rings to come in

-Cleaning up the MegaSquirt wiring that I had all rigged up like in the previous pics. Need to get some loom to cover them all now. Actually got the stock ECU wiring cover to fit over all the wires with some modification and it's looking good. No pics of that yet until it's done

-Did bunch of other wire tucking

-Finished up the throttle body. IAC is completely disabled and the passage for the idle air to flow is completely blocked (with pennies ). Also the port for the evap is now welded shut as well

-Welded on a -6an fitting on the thermostat to the coolant reservoir. Just had a -6an line clamped up to it before and worked fine, just didn't look complete

-Couple weeks back I was shifting aggressively and been having problems shifting into 2, 4, and R. Turns out 1 of the shifter cables had a metal piece pop out from this sleeve thing. I took it all apart and used new clamps and reinstalled. Feel perfect again. Hope it holds like that forever

-Polished the compressor of the turbo. Took 5 hours, and far from perfect, but I think it looks good. It's shiny... and that works for me. I had painted it chrome originally but got fed up with the paint dripping off and getting all over the place when working on. Such as hassle and it didn't look good. Pic below

-My boy with the IS300 is selling his rims from it and we decided to test them to see how they look on my car. Price is right, but needs new tires. They're pretty light too. Not sure if I'm going to get them yet though. Each time I look at the car with them on, I think of his MX6 since the body styles are really close. Opinions?

Re: david-b's 95 Eagle Talon ESi-T Motor Build

Ya I need to do the suspension this summer as well, but again was just trying them on. Not sure how I feel about them still though. I've got it printed out at my office so I can stare at them all day. Wish the car was clean when I took those pics, would help out a lot. But seriously, I just keep seeing the MX6 those used to be on when I see the car lol.

EDIT: Oh also, the tires are 2 different sizes between the front and the back. Back are low-pros, I believe 35s IIRC. Way too low for me. I like some meat on them (that's what she said)

Re: david-b's 95 Eagle Talon ESi-T Motor Build

Sadly did not get too much work done this week on the beast. It was nice outside, and I had to take full advantage of that. However, did get somethings done. Wanted to devote today to doing everything, but it's pouring right now

-Finally got my new Cometic headgasket in. This is number 2, I hope I don't have to ever buy a 3rd one. These things get pricey.

-I liked how the SS lines and fittings looked for the MBC, but didn't like that I just had on the WG and turbo it just clamped. So I bought the right fittings and made it complete. I have an addiction to this stuff I think. Sadly, I bled all over the place from them, including my feet because I was cutting the line in my kitchen while barefoot and the little strands get everywhere. Totally worth it though.

-Took out all evap/emissions stuff. Just have the bracket that holds the canistor in place, but it's mad rusted onto the frame, so when I pull off the bumper I can do it then.

-Picked up the head from the machine shop. They checked it for flatness and it was A-ok. The owner was very impressed with the porting/polishing job that was originally done on it from my original machine shop when I built the head. He said he wouldn't have done work like that, and that it's very high performance. $10 for checking and a basic wipe-down and deburring. 2 day turn around. Beat that!

Classy

Couple pounds worth taken out.

Nice. I like the use of the stainless. Looks super hard compared to regular old vacuum line.

Thanks. I have the problems with vacuum lines breaking and leaking. I decided to the the SS awhile back and it turned out great, but 'as an artist' I didn't like how it didn't look complete. I always hated dealing with putting them together, but actually getting pretty good at it. The -4an is a little bitch. -6an I could cut and put the ends on in seconds now. I want to replace nearly all lines with this stuff at some point.

But the plan is no leaks or breaks... ever, while making under the hood nice.

Re: david-b's 95 Eagle Talon ESi-T Motor Build

AF was being stupid. I hit post, walked away... 15 mintues later was still 'posting.' Only hit it once. I wonder how many times it would have posted if I just let it keep going.

It's going to keep raining nearly all week around here. yesterday was absoutley beautiful, but had to go to my parents and stuff. As soon as I got home, it poured... and it poured hard. Going to be the same all week basically, so who knows. Was supposed to go to 2 car meets this coming weekend (IS300 meet and a 3kgt meet) but I see that's not happening, well not in my car.
