Greg,

Do us a favour and take the dust jacket off the 1995 GT Endurance book.

Is the actual book cover (underneathe the paper dust jacket) actually displaying the same image, or simply the standard 1995 GT Endurance cover ?

I know it sounds mad, but there were some Team editions printed, with extra sponsors' advertising pages added, and I'm wondering if this was one of them (or not !) ?

Regards

Re: Books on the Mclaren - Which ones to get and why

Did someone on here want a Michael Cotton GTR book? £150 for a WEST version signed by Gordon Murray seems pretty cheap!

ETA cheeky seller changed the listing from a Buy It Now for £150 to an auction starting at £90

I'd bid on it if I had an Ebay UK account... I also would wish for a picture of Mr Murray's signature... Oh well.

Re: Books on the Mclaren - Which ones to get and why

Thanks for this great article!

Until then I had never heard of the so many after-Projects.
If I sum up:
. Project 2: a two-plus-two 911-sized mid-engined sports car.
. Project 3: a city car, which Gordon worked on for a year.
. Project 4: a two-seater F1 demonstration car.
. Project 5: a rear-engined V8 supercar.
. Project 6: a very radical Le Mans car, underfloor radiators, high nose. Wind tunnel tests showed it would have annihilated everything at the time on downforce, lift over drag.
. Project 7: the Mercedes SLR
. Project 8 was the next rear-engined car which was put to Mercedes.

Anyone has more information such as sketches (let's dream!), approximative years and so on?

Re: Books on the Mclaren - Which ones to get and why

Looking at the P6 Le Mans prototype, it is obvious that the design was radical for 1998. Such design solutions were in use 3 years later! Too bad they did not go for it!

Re: Books on the Mclaren - Which ones to get and why

A friend brought to my attention that "McLaren : The Wins" is now available from the McLaren store for $33.00 - quite a discount from its original price.

http://www.mclarenstore.com/en/resto.../invt/vmm1179/

Even with shipping to the USA at $25.00 it is still a nice discount from the $79.95 price plus shipping from the publisher.
