Re: david-b's 95 Eagle Talon ESi-T Motor Build

See I thought I got mine close, and it's fine for the first part of driving. But after awhile, it just gets way off, and MS will be reading 14s and the AEM will be showing 11-12s. I just really need to sit down with it and try everything. Hate that for being the AEM and having the AEM setting, that it doesn't match up right.

Do you have a tunable WB? mine can be set to different lambda ranges so its off in dsmlink unless it matches the lambda range of the WB wideband I have selected in DSMlink. Maybe a problem like that?

Yeah I just learned that it is adjustable. Played with it a couple weekends ago when it was a little warmer and getting it a little better. It's just constant tweaking. Need a little more.

Other than that, car basically just been sitting. The snow is a little too high to drive. I was forced to take it to work today (woke up WAAAY late) and she ran pretty good. Was the farthest I've taken her.

Multitasking... working and tuning.

I found out why the ALT and PS was slipping. Seems like the pulley is not pulley torqued on the crank. So the crank will spin, the pulley does too, but just not as fast as it should be. That explains why it happens at high rpms too. I wanted to pull the wheel and try to torque the center bolt again this past weekend but didn't get to it.

Going to start pricing out suspension parts soon as well. Want dropped by June at latest.

If it was after 5 I'd be able to. Behind the left screen is a strawberry protein shake thing that we may be carrying soon, so I'm drinking that. P.S.... not that great of a drink.

We distribute many other brands as well. Our portfolio is pretty massive. It's made by Vital Pharmaceuticals but they don't distribute their own products. Most smaller companies can't afford to do that, so they have a distrubator do it.

Re: david-b's 95 Eagle Talon ESi-T Motor Build

Did quite a bit of work today. Car has been running like a champ lately. WB is near matched up with MS, still tweaking that, but been doing some tuning as well. Have about 250 miles only on the motor.

Today installed the MBC finally. Bought a SS line and fittings so it's a super clean and classy setup.
All the fittings (bought a bunch of extras as well for other things)

Best pic I could really take of it all installed

Thing works great. Been on the e-way today tuning, but traffic got kind of bad so had to stop. Hit 8psi as a max today. It's so hard to keep the wheels on the ground. The thing is sweet though. Sounds like a plane taking off once it starts getting that high. Plan on a video tomorrow. My boy was supposed to take one today... fail

Random turbo shot of it still spinning after I shut the car off. Thing goes for another 30-45 seconds after turning the motor off.

And some random church I stopped in the parking lot to check everything somewhere along the expressway. No idea where I was at.

Was working on some leaks as well. The oil return was leaking a little, I think that got fixed. Still going to pull the valve cover off oneday and try to tighten the one head bolt as well. But other than that, after the expressway driving, there was 1 little drop of oil coming off the pan and that was it Very happy about that right now. I'm still cautious about pulling a full WOT 3rd gear pull. Just want everything to be perfect. Dyno time is scheduled in April

Edit: Oh, and MS shows about 234hp at ~7psi

Guess the turbo is well balanced!!

Do you have other tires in mind that will help hold her down?

Re: david-b's 95 Eagle Talon ESi-T Motor Build

Turbo must be. I did a damn good job on the rebuild

Haven't decided yet. People have recommended some good sets of rubbers. They'll be going on my rims in the summer. Not 100% sure on them yet since I'm working on the suspension as well. Lowering it will help with traction as well.

Re: david-b's 95 Eagle Talon ESi-T Motor Build

Dave, what size are those monitors your running there? Looks like a nice bit of workspace with that size and I'm very tired of dual 17's... Just not enough workspace sometimes and have kinda been lookin to upgrade... Was debating between 20's or 24's since I can get a great deal on each... Or possibly bumping up to some 32's just because I could. lol...

Re: david-b's 95 Eagle Talon ESi-T Motor Build

Those are 22" widescreens. Not huge, but much better than the single 17" I started off with. Decent amount of space for doing everything I do.

Hoping for videos today.

Re: david-b's 95 Eagle Talon ESi-T Motor Build

Since I'm going to be replacing the front seats with some nice racing seats, I decided that I'm going to redo the carpet as well. Between the multiple fires, leaks, spills, stains and whatever else is in there, it looks like shit. The light gray is nice when it's clean, but honestly, I can't get it clean anymore. 15 years will do that to a rug.

So when I pull the seats to replace, I'm going to tear up that carpet (that's what he said) and replace with a new one. I'm looking at different colors and had a company send me some samples of each. I'm thinking the darker one which is a charcoal color. The seats will be a silver/gray/black mixed combo. I don't have the exact seats picked out yet though.

Camera phone doesn't do justice for the differences

I do have the option on getting a thicker rug that will block out a lot of road noise for a little extra, but it adds 25lbs to the car, so thinking I'll pass on that since this is becoming pretty much a full out project now.

Also while the carpet is torn up, I'm going to sand down and repaint the entire chasis under the rug. Get rid of any rust and anything else that is growing under there.

And lastly, had my first kill the other night. A riced-out Mazda MX6. I used to beat my buddies when he had his all day, even when I was N/T. Here we hopped on the expressway, him in front and I just pulled on him in 3rd. Was classic. You hear his ricer muffler screaming, working all hard. And then there I go... WHOOOOOOSH without even trying.
