I have been an admirer of the Skyline for a while. I want one for me. As a father of 4 high school and college kids. It's time for Daddy to enjoy a little something. I leave in Dallas TX. Where can I looking into buying one.??????

Motorex in California imports them. That is an R34, so it would be VERY pricey (more than a viper).

yeah around $89,500 for an R34 Skyline GT-R V-spec , but it's as low as $18,000 for a 1990 R32 Nissan Skyline GTS-T I think

yeah i know i was just giving from the very affordable to the pricey models......kind of like how most car manufacturers have the lowly base model cars to the top of the line models
but i wouldn't go for the GTS-T anyways, even though that's probably all that i would be able to afford for now if i just used up all of my college money......but i'd rather have the GT-R because those are the ones with the more power and simply i'd like saying "my car has all wheel drive how about yours?" instead of oh yeah it's rear-wheel drive.....unless it was built before "Godzilla" then i dunno about it, kind of like comparing that gourmet japanese beef to fillet mingion..both are excellent cuts of beef, but which one is the more desired? which one is the most in demand? which one will cost more? both leave you salivating, but only one is in more demand...... (ok bad analogy, but i'm hungry and dinner isn't ready yet...we're having lobster :licker: ) |

Well it all depends on what you can afford, if you can't swing a GTR (like me) a GTS-4 would be a good choice. Of course it's not a GTR, but you get ATTESSA, an RB20DET (in the R32, RB25DE in the R33), and a sporty car. I wish I could buy an R32 GTR when I move but as usual money prevents it. So I'm going to go for an R33 GTS-4 and work on getting some forced induction
Oh yea, motorex has two GTS-ts in stock (I think they are in the lot) 1992 GT-S Blue 26,000 miles $24,000 1990 GT-S Silver 37,000 miles $18,000

Somebody send this thread to Nissan of America, maybe they'll get the damn point hearing the opinions of their target demographic Skyline owners, Nissan enthusiasts and everyone willing to buy one.

I dunno about you guys...
But I think the GT-R is evolving into the form it needs to compete in the future. The VQ-series V6 is already available turbocharged from the factory in Japan.
The Nissan Stagea wagon uses a VQ25DET and already has the same power rating as the RB(276hp) but with less displacement. The original VQ was a normally aspirated screamer, making 410hp. Making that kind of power under normal aspriation is harder on an engine block than turbocharging, so the VQ can handle even more power under boost. A Maxima owner with a turbocharged VQ30DE made nearly 400 crank hp with less than 10 pounds of boost, and stock internals. Imagine a 3.5-liter VQ with twin turbos! Actually, you don't have to. A VQ35DETT was already used in a racing R34, and was estimated to make 450hp. However, the torque figure was well into the 500lb-ft range, so the power rating was probably very conservative. The XVL chassis that the new Skyline is based on is excellent as well. The Skyline sedan is said to have great handling due to it's nearly perfect weight balance. Fortunately, the chassis is lighter. Weight was always a problem for the Skyline, and even the luxo-sedan Infiniti G35 is around 200lbs lighter than the R34 GT-R. If the sedan form of the platform is this good, the coupe version(350Z, G35 Coupe, GT-R) will be even better.
