I will build a huge plexi display case for it. Keep it in my room, or office. Possibly sell it if someone like Chip Foose, or Boyd Coddington offered to buy it, being that it is a similar body to that of a Boydster/0032 and 32 Ford.

at this rate of work you have going it will be estimated 3 months or so of work to even finish fab. it is great you are spending the time on this. cant wait to see more chassis parts and the motor in. after the fab fo the chassis the body should goes easy just build around it

Is 50grand enough? There's no way I'd sell this. After all the work thats being put in it, I couldn't let it go for a few grand. That's BS! Mike you damn well better not get rid of it for less than 50grand!

50 G's hahaha

if he was to sell it, i would figure the cost of supplies it took. for the labor of it...well hours X amount an hour. then add it up. so far looks like he is putting a good amount of cash into ti, and hours .

Thanks Bryce. It will probably take a majority of the summer. The chassis should be rolling, with motor, by Mid-June. Fabricating the body is a lot easier said than done.

I know, lots of sentimental value. I would make them hire me first. After I finish I will send pics into Rod and Custom or Hot Rodder Magazine as a readers ride, they may want to do an article on it too. Wouldnt that be great, talk about publicity. Then talk about being set for life...hopefully. Thats why I am making it so perfect.

I have been keeping a log of hours put into it, but my mom through it away dammit. I need to start a new one. So far there were 126 hours into it (NOTE: Hours are for HotRod II project, not the failure of HRI)

UPDATES:

The left rail is near completion. In the background of the pictures you will see that the other rail is completed.

However after priming I noticed one of the angles was off. If you look in the top picture towards the back of the frame; the angle that looks like it is supposed to go up a 46degrees is actually at 40degrees, so it needed to be but in two and readjusted. It turns out it was off by .75mm causing the 40 degree angle instead of 46degrees like the other rail.

All said and being done it is being reepoxied right now. This was an unexpected set back that will set me back almost a day. Tommorrow instead of tonight the rails will begin to be joined.

I'm not going all for highest number of replies, but I would like to know if someone sees something wrong, or doesnt look right, or just comments about it.

What you see right now is what I have. One rail complete, the other 90% done.

Next the two will be joined.

Much better now. If I had gotten to body fab I would need to start about 75% of the project over. Im glad I noticed it.

No, it's not Mike. I'm one of his friends that he knows at school, lol. We are in the same first period class (Drafting) and that's when I usuall am on the net at school. He showed me AF one day and suggested that I sign up... I may only make posts in his thread, but I'm not him.

Whats new?

Everything is going pretty smooth as of now. I just primed the left rail again after filling some minor spots. I was able to get the four main cross-members cut. Then I did a mock up, and I must say I am very please. I will try to get some mock up pics tonight at least if nothing else. This is one of my favorite things about building from scratch, seeing pieces of raw metal come together. Its quite satisfying, and fascinating.
