Re: Hey Brian...

NICE NICE NICE!!!!

Did you have to break out the jig saw at the track? How much did your times drop if any?

Glad you like them! I guess they still have some life in them :-)

Here’s my “beyond the smile” report!

These bad boys really stick, once they get warmed up that is. Which means the first couple of laps (especially in the early morning) can prove to be quite interesting… I would compare it to riding around on ice. Well maybe not that bad but you have to be careful.

I started out cold with 28 lbs which turned to 33lbs rather quickly. Dropped that back down to 31lbs which seems to work well. As for being faster, there is just no doubt about that. In my case I found myself going into corners much faster than usual. Exit was also quite a bit faster given that the tires are so forgiving. When the ass end starts to get loose it is very predictable, and therefore quite easy to control with the pedal. At least it was for me.

Braking was very much improved, especially coming to the end of the back straight at 10a. As I got more comfortable I found myself halfway between the 200’ and 100’ marker before I got on the binders. And that’s pretty good for me as I’m always braking way too early in this area.

My overall time was much better, but I can’t tell you how much better as I wasn’t timing my runs. But there is just no doubt that the faster entry and deeper braking made one hell of a difference.

I know some of us are keeping our cars completely "panoz stock" for racing purposes. But if you are not one of those, this is an easy mod with spectacular results. In fact, it’s harder to find someone to mount the tires than it is to modify the car.

No, the 2" that you recommended was perfect all the way around. Good thing too cuz I forgot to bring the saw!

Re: Hey Brian...

Squerly/Jim. Sounds like everything went well for you this weekend. I was coming out but got real busy and Saturday was Vee's birthday. Do you have your old wheels and would you consider getting rid off them?

Sure Mike, I have 10 -18" BBS rims and I would consider selling 6 of them. I'll keep a set handy until I can get some backup CCW rims for my new Meats! What's the going price for a set of used BBS rims?

Re: Hey Brian...

Wow that looks killer! We're stickign w/ the 17" BBS and 275/40/17s right now for cost and because the car is setup around NASA TTS/ST2 rules.

I used to have classics on my yellow Z06

Re: Hey Brian...

Just noticed that you don't seem to have any hood latches other than the original 4 and the 2 screws at the rear middle... any issues w/ hood flutter?

We converted the 4 hood supports to hoodpins to prevent it from flopping around at speed @ VIR.

Well, I'm looking for a motor home. I could trade you straight across if you've got one you want to get rid of...
