If it's got restriction, it's gonna' take a couple of seconds to max the reading. Don't you think?

If it's free, it's gonna' peg immediately...

OP - I had my battery disconnected yesterday, and now my fan temp is cycling cold / hot, short cycle too. I'm not on that now tho'...

Are you SURE you're seating the plug wires GOOD? Like feeling the snap onto the connector?

Go to here, and see how to do an ohm test for #6 injector. If no one here knows spec ohms for injector, do the others too to compare. Vette injectors spec at 16+ ohms.

With new cap, rotor, plug and wire ruled OUT, nothing is left except injector leaking fuel, like OM was getting at.

Typically it takes a second or two to build regulated pressure. Easier and safer just to remove the filter and check it.

If #6 plug is dry, the injector is not stuck open. The question is why isn't it getting fuel. Wiring to the injector? Faulty injector? Stuck or clogged poppet valve? Vacuum leak on #6 intake runner, (could be internal or external). Need to do some more testing.

You still haven't posted your fuel pressure.
You could still try doing a couple of things that won't cost you anything except your time.
Try swapping 2 of your coils. Your computer maybe seeing a problem with the #6 tower so no matter which plug wire you put on that coil tower it still reports a problem with #6.

swap 2 of your fuel injectors

do a compression test on #6.

Haven't checked the fuel pressure yet.. Mine has a distributor not coils. It has the center port fuel injection system with the spider looking injectors. They are under the intake and I think there is only two injectors that feed the fuel lines to the cylinders. I do not have the equipment to check compression or fuel pressure. Does advance rent any of this equipment. I'll post as soon as I get this info hopefully sooner than later.I pulled the distributor off today just to double check the rotor pin and cap and they look great.Has to be fuel pump or the fuel line for number 6. The car doesn't have very many miles and has been taken very good care of and doesn't burn oil.Feels nice and tight and good oil pressure. Has always ran great. Cant even feel it running from inside. Great engine until now..

There are 6 injectors inside the plenum. The connector for the injector pack is accessible without removing the plenum. In the injector connector, the pink wire supplies battery voltage to each injector when the ignition is in the RUN and CRANK positions. The ECM supplies ground to each injector sequentially to fire them. Make sure the pink wire has battery voltage to #6 injector. The ground wire for #6 cylinder is yellow with a black stripe. It should pulse ground while the engine is running. A Noid light will confirm this. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/cat...&brandName=OEM

If that checks out OK, the technical difficulty level goes up a step. Disconnect the injector electrical connector and check injector resistance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_g8Pd...layer_embedded If resistance is good, remove the plenum and carefully remove the plastic poppet valve to #6 cylinder from the lower intake manifold and direct it into a jar. Connect the fuel lines to the injector pack and cycle the ignition to pressurize the system, don't crank the engine. If you apply battery voltage to one terminal of the #6 injector and momentarily ground the other, the poppet should spray fuel.
