Just a quick note I'm hugely impressed at the wealth of information you have on this forum!! You all do a brilliant job.

Here's the details for #018 blasting by an M6GT at the Bruce McLaren festival at Hampton Downs....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rieK13iTi0

And also some impressive driving from an Integra driver to try keep up with him at Hampton Downs again from a track day...

#018's owner races a 997 GT3 Cup Car as track car so he knows how to pedal a car round a race circuit!
Welcome to the forum.

Nice first post, thanks for the links

Any more info on #018, Please feel free to share, its such a smart looking F1.

If you have more than casual knowledge of who AB is, perhaps you could speak with him about the sign issue, please?

I wish it was more than a casual knowledge! There may be a few opportunities to cross paths this summer so I will try introduce myself if the chance arises.

I did speak to one of the crew in the corporate area who was lucky enough to be looking after the keys to #018 while AB was racing. He said the car does get its legs stretched and that it arrived absolutely filthy and in impressive time for its 280km journey from home.

I'll try post some more comprehensive pictures when I figure out a better way to get them up....

Look forward to seeing the rest of your pics, I used MediaFire.com file/folder sharing for the first time today, for my XP1 LM pics, easy to use (thanks Erik)

Its really good to see the owner using his F1, for what it was designed for "DRIVING" Top man.

I'm always available to host anything F1-related if you want to email them to me. I pay for my Photobucket account and so there's no chance of the images ever going missing unless Photobucket dies a horrible death.

My email address is my screenname @hotmail if you want/need to take me up on the offer.

That first image is quite good.

Just realised this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTXbSqg9OQ8 is not from the most recent Bruce McLaren event - He must get down there quite a bit then!

Re: #018 at Hampton Downs Raceway

Fantastic shots those are - thanks for putting them up.

I should mention that we'll even be pleased with the ones you don't call "better photos".

= = = = = =

Today I acquired the larger versions of RobiNZ's 16 photos from the New Zealand Motorsports Festival on Flickr and he gave me permission to share them with other F1 enthusiasts. If you want them, let me know here or shoot me a PM and I can provide a DL link.

He also forwarded a link to the comment I made in his Flickr album to someone at the Bruce McLaren Trust so that hopefully they can do a better job of informing people on exactly what this car is at future events.

Re: #018 at Hampton Downs Raceway

Thanks for sharing, excellent pics

Also big thanks to RobiNZ for sharing his excellent pics in high res

You guys in NZ are lucky to have an owner who is enthusiastic about driving his F1 and sharing it in the public arena. Concidering its probably the only one in your country.

Nope, there is another one. Silver road car near Wellington - some people DO know the chassis number, but sadly aren't willing to share it, so it remains an 'unknown' silver car. And of course there was XP4. So for a small country (4.3mil or so) we've had more than our fair share I think!

Re: #018 at Hampton Downs Raceway

I've never even seen a photo of the Wellington car even though it's well known and has been discussed for a very long time. I'd be pretty surprised if it was anything other than chassis #049, #057 or #066 though.

Re: #018 at Hampton Downs Raceway

A couple of great 'selective color' shots of #018. Each one links to the Flickr page where you can DL a hi-res version.

Re: #018 at Hampton Downs Raceway

Those are great - thanks!!

It is quite a good looking car and I'm happy to see that after a few years of hibernation it is getting some real use in the hands of the current owner.
