Re: RIMS! at long last. . .

For 18's you want 245/40/18 or 275/35/18

Ok, so did you end up getting them to fit with 11mm spacers? If so, how does it look? Pictures?

I'm thinking he'll probably need 275 or 265's with 9.5" in width right?

Re: RIMS! at long last. . .

I wasn't even considering teh wheel width. I was just stating the two sizes most use on 18's to remain stock diameter.

Re: RIMS! at long last. . .

Your going to need something in this range for low profile
275/45/18 is the side wall I usually use so it does not look like rubber bands and you have less of a chance of bending a wheel
275/40-18
275/35/18

and
275/50-55/18 is an alternative just would be a big more snug in the wheel well fulfillment and look kind of dumpy on it

hope that helps ya out a bit Joe

P.S. post us a pic when you get em wrapped an on...

Good Luck,
Matt

Those sizes are VERY incorrect.

275/45/18 is 27.7" tall. Thats 2" taller than stock and would never fit. It wouldn't even be close.

275/40/18 is 26.66" tall and also would not fit without rubbing.

275/50/18 is 28.8" and 275/55/18 is 29.9" tall with no chance, no how of ever fitting. You obviously do not understand how the math works on tires to suggest such sizes.

If you read earlier posts you would see I already told him about 275/35/18 which is the proper size.

before you go talking down on someone, a friend of mine has use 275/40/18 on his vr4 and had no rubbing but i wont say anything about the other stuff i am not about childish arguements, because i was just saying what size matches those wheels not what would work properly on his car in which all of those size do actually fit on that size wheel....
but to make you happy ok great yes

Re: RIMS! at long last. . .

I wasn't talking down to you. I was giving a mere no, thats incorrect with the correct info. I had a feeling you would take offense to it though.

Also I guarantee you your friend had rubbing issues. I know people who have rubbing issues with tires that are 26.0" tall. almost 3/4" taller would rub like mad.

Re: RIMS! at long last. . .

updates: so i had to grind down the logo on the front calipers a little, but they fit fine with spacers. i've just ordered some dunlop direzza's (275 35 18) so after i get those here and have em mounted, it'll be ready to go on its new shoes.
