Re: Injector Problem

ok, here is the latest. my sister put it back into the shop to have them pull the head. i got called a few days later and they told me that i have a broken valve spring. they said they want to send the head out to get reworked. he also told me that he found a way to get me a deal on the ecm, he went under the federal emmisions law of 8years or 80kmiles. so total bill is looking like $2100.

Re: Injector Problem

I still say to put in a claim with Chrysler for the repairs.....the worst they can do is say no.

Go here to have a look at what's covered: http://www.jeep.com/crossbrand/warranty/

Re: Injector Problem

If it's just a broken valve spring, can't it be changed out without pulling the head?

Re: Injector Problem

I searched and found broken valve springs on some of these. Did they assemble some of these with cheesy valve springs? I don't think the engines will spin enough rpm to kill a good spring.

Re: Injector Problem

Yea ! They are easy to fix, you can run compressed air throw the spark plug hole to hold the valve up during the spring replacement.

Re: Injector Problem

If a burnt valve is causing an Injector DTC is it possible this could damage the Powertrain Control Module?

Re: Injector Problem

The PCM is fine, you're just missing a cylinder!
