I don't want to start a fight in here, but the Mustang is still being made for a reason. The F-bodies are not being made for a reason. It all goes back to 1964 1/2 when the Mustang was introduced. Chevrolet dominated in the 50's, but Ford scared the shit out of them with the introduction if the Mustang in 64. The result, a cheaply made, hurry up and beat the metal real thin Camaro...and the Firebird the result to the Camaro. Of course, the Camaros have improved greatly with time, but in my eyes, they are still a reaction to a legend...but not a legend themselves. Thats my 2 cents, use it, or throw it back at me, I don't care.

the only thing I've never really liked about the Saleens--was the front bumper and hood styling. Some model years have been absolutely God awful. But I will say ---that the rear bumper of the current Saleens-----is absolutely the hottest bumper any mustang has ever worn. The Saleen wings though---are a little too poignant---and borderline obnoxious.

You're kidding me, right??? The F-body platform is not legendary??? One doesn't make a close-minded, opinionated post, and expect to not be looking for a response. Without the F-bodies, there would be no Mustang. Why do you think that the Mustang was resurrected in the early 80's from the dismal styling cues in the 70's (my opinion shared by most, those were not the Mustang's best years)??? Without competition, how can a label survive??? Let's analyze this. If the Camaro/Firebird was a reaction to a legend, wouldn't that make the Mustang a reaction to the Corvette, by trying to undercut the cost of a Corvette with large motor in a smaller car??? Who's not a legend now??? As for the cheap remark, don't even get me started on that, with episodes like the 99 Cobra in the books. I think your logic is flawed. If you were a true car enthusiast, you'd realize what good that platform, the F-body, has given the auto world.

Back to the topic at hand, start another one somewhere if you wish to continue the arguement...

I have to admit that Black Camaro SS does have a point. Just one thing, people love bringing up the 99 cobra fiasco----but it really wasn't as big a deal as everyone thinks. The problem was corrected by putting in the correct exhaust. People think it was some kind of engine problem, but the power loss was corrected by putting in a different type of exhaust. Yes, the engine was under rated and yes it was embarassing----but its nothing like BMW extending the engine warranty on all 2001 & 2002 M3s----to 100,000 because they have had so many of those model year engines----coming down down with damaged rods and bearings. I think thats a big time embarassment----but BMW has done a fabulous job of 'bribing' everyone to keep tightlipped!!!!

Yeah, the 99 things was a simple fix, but in my rush to work, I didn't want to go and do some research for something else. I was just using it as an example. I can totally appreciate owning a mustang, nothing wrong with muscle cars, no matter the brand. If I have bad feelings towards Mustangs, that's only due to not being able to fit into them and drive them. Therefore, I have what I have.

I'm 6'5" tall. Every mustang I've ever tried to get in and drive (V6, GT, Cobra, Saleen, Roush), my knees always hit the underside of the dash, and I can't get my legs in to get to the pedals. Pretty frustrating if you ask me, cause I can't make a comparison on my own terms between the cars.

well shit, I'm sure women find the legless ones pretty hot, specially if they can still maintain the ability to drive a car!

SVT 03 Cobra

Saleen is over-rated

not worth the money

power wise

Saleen S281-E 425hp
03 Cobra 390hp(under-rated)

simple exhaust upgrade and blower pulley change and you have more hp than a Saleen with probably a much better bottom end

I've seen 03 Cobra's pushing 700+rwhp on a stock bottom end...

do a search for Nitrous Pete's 03 Cobra
