Re: Camaro '69 slight mods 9sec street registered

Ok, so i have given her a paint job, the colour is "smoke gray" but it is very dark and looks black metallic

it has been clear coated with automotive 2k clear

i striped the kit chrome of the wheels then gave them some alclad chrome, but i didn't like how they turned out ( just me, i have never used alclad before)

so i have striped them again and im still deciding what to do with them

I have also added a door slammer type wing on the back same as my ref photos of the car im replicating

Im not happy with the mess i have made of the chassis, so i have another one on the way, so i might start work on the motor

Re: Camaro '69 slight mods 9sec street registered

started on the radiator today, i have redone the camaro kit part to more like my ref pics

i have some P/E radiator grill i will be adding after paint

also i have knocked up an oil cooler, just waiting for the putty to cure before painting and adding the grill

The motor is going to be a 615ci super charged pontiac motor

Re: Camaro '69 slight mods 9sec street registered

bit more work done

oil cooler has been meshed and painted, there will be some braided line and A/N fittings added

speaking of A/N fittings, these are my first attempt at these

very tedious job but i think they turned out ok

also started work on the super charger pulleys

back to work!!

I'm really interested to see the engine when it's assembled. It should look amazing!

Thanks! i have done a quick mock up and got some pics see below

so i have finished the oil cooler and attached it to the radiator

the motor as of tonight, super charger on, carbys, couple of pulleys

couple of days ago i put the motor in the car to see how it would look, i like it , but i thought i would change the paint on the super charger and the hilborn hat i had on it so i thru them in the trusty old brake fluid to strip the paint

Normally not a problem BUT it seems to be a problem when the parts are made from resin the bake fluid turned the resin parts into rubber

motor before

resin hat after

there's a lesson here kids

Where did you get your wheelie bar? I'm working on a Charger drag car and thought about putting one on mine.

Thanks in advance

Re: Camaro '69 slight mods 9sec street registered

i went thru the parts box i have and came up with the new injector hat and new blower

i didn't really like it at first but it's growing on me

the butterflies will be painted the same as the body colour

i'm still not sure what to do with the wheels colour wise, should i try to chrome them again?

any suggestions?

I would go with a gunmetal or make it stealth with painting them a flat black.
