Re: Rear wheel noise........
Hi Rahx,
Swopped front nearside wheel & tyre with rear offside today. Only thing that appears dubious is that the front discs appear that they are loose. I do not know if this is normal but it feels as if without the Caliper on you could just remove the disc. There is movement on both fronts. I know & understand that the wheel cannot come off because of the wheel itself but I always thought that they were firm with no movement. Otherwise on the weaving from hard right to hard left no noise which I imagine rules out the bearings. One thing that I did notice is that the rear tyre may have cupping, I can't be sure if it has it is only slight not really obvious might just be my eyes. What causes cupping anyway? |

Re: Rear wheel noise........
90% of the time it is an out of balance tire. Other causes in most common order: lack of rotation, alignment/bad shock or strut. There is a bracket that your caliper bolts to that should keep your rotor from coming off so don't worry about it being loose with your wheel off, it is fairly normal. With your wheel tight, it is securely sandwiched between the wheel and the hub.
